North Devon has wonderful beaches and is well positioned for visits to Exmoor, Dartmoor and North Cornwall. At Croyde and Woolacombe, discover some of the best and cleanest surf beaches in the country, as well as many smaller coves and bays. Really excellent stay in oak tree cottage.It was perfectly set up for our family of dogs and a small person. The totally enclosed garden gave us peace of mind that we were secure and all could roam. The cottage had great touches with DVD’s for when the weather was less than perfect. The welcome was excellent. We were greeted by Dave who explained everything whilst showing us around the cottage. Although we parked just off a busy road, the traffic could not be heard. The location was quiet and peaceful. It is an excellent place to use as a base for visiting the surrounding areas. There are some wonderful places to eat with most being within walking distance from the cottage. Nik and Dave are very friendly and nothing is too much for them. They are excellent hosts. Overall we really enjoyed our stay there and strongly recommend others to book it. You will not be disappointed. Easy walking distance to beautiful beach, shops & restaurants, short drive to bigger towns, and, while parts of the beach only allow dogs at certain times of the year, there are numerous dog friendly footpaths (including the Tarka Trail) within easy reach.
