Pet Friendly. The “Redhead Tom” log cabin, a beautifully restored mountain dwelling dating from the early nineteenth century. Spend cozy evenings next to the woodstove after hiking the trails of the Big Ivy section of Pisgah National Forest. The cabin is set under shade trees overlooking a meadow that joins the forest. You can relax on the porch and listen to the mountain stream at the edge of the farm. We also have a bungalow that sleeps at least 6 and can host events such as workshops or retreats if you want to share your visit with family and friends. Our event space is a separate building with lots of possibilities for your group event. Bring your boots, fishing pole, mountain bike, horses, dogs and kids - whatever makes this visit the best it can be. We are at the farm next door to help with anything you might need. If you would like to schedule an event here we have a 1000 square foot open space that can accommodate classes, workshops, catered meals for groups. The farmhouse on the property can be booked along with the cabin to accommodate more of your group and we have other rentals very nearby we can refer you to if you fill our spaces. While i was packing on sept 8th to drive up to this homeaway, i received the shocking call of my son's tragic death during a hospital incident. This homeaway site lists STtelite & Cable in the 'entertainment' category, but there was none! I could not access the news to see what was happening with the hurricane in my home area of Bluffton Hilton Head SC! & they claimed there was cell & internet service, but they gave me the incorrect connection then incorrect pw, so i had to drive to Weaversville to talk to Coroners office getting autopsy information & making funeral arrangements in a McDonalds! Then the storm hit the homeaway area & i had no assurances from them whatsoever & the power went out & the water pipes were contaminated, & they never cleaned up the mess of broken branches all around the rental! Meanwhile the ppl next door had all the amenities plus a land line! The owners let them out of the week contract early & i asked them to let me out early given all i explained, but they only refunded my extremely high dog deposit. I was only there 4 mights but i would have left the third day if i could get the news or go ahead. When i told them i was leaving anyway, they suddenly offed me the use of the next door ammenities, too little too late! False advertising, & these ppl have no mercy ##### Fran S. I spent three nights at this cabin with my dog. It was a great place to stay on a solo trip. I loved that you can walk right into the Pisgah National Forest from the property. And so many trails are within walking and driving distance! The cabin had everything I needed but I appreciated the front porch view and the comfy bed the most! We had amazing long weekend in this beautiful cabin right off the Big Ivy Pisgah Forest. It was ideal place for us. I got to sit and read on porch while my husband biked all over the mountain. Lower trails were great for our morning walk with our dog. The cabin was cozy and had everything we needed, except for food I didn’t take Ann’s suggestion that said pick up food in Weaverville. Apr 13, 2019 #### A great place to get back to the basics! A very nice rustic cabin with all the basic amenities included! Ann and Jay were great hosts! The property was very close to nature (animals, hiking trails, great food and small town charm). Definitely the perfect size for a couple and pet.
