The apartment is located in a historic building in the heart of Bari, in a residential area that allows you to experience real neighborhood life. The entrance opens onto the living room furnished with a sofa, a TV and a bathroom with shower. Going up a few steps you reach the second floor where there is a walk-in closet, a laundry room with a washer and dryer, and two sofas perfect for relaxing while reading a good book. Going up a few more steps you reach the spacious open-plan kitchen equipped with all amenities including an oven and a microwave, a dining table and a small sofa. On the top floor is the master bedroom with ensuite bathroom with shower and a small walk-in closet. Free wifi, air conditioning and heating will be available in the accommodation. \*The building is currently undergoing renovation work, making access challenging. \*Upon arrival or a few days before arrival it may be required to pay a tourist tax, which varies according to local regulations. You will find your reservation details within the Guest Area of Wonderful Italy. Fascinating, rich in history, and authentic: Bari is the capital of Puglia and the most populous city overlooking the Adriatic Sea. Also known as the "Gateway to the East," the city has a strong merchant-entrepreneurial tradition and has always been a focal point of trade and contact with the Middle East. The city's offerings are truly rich: ancient churches, romantic glimpses of the sea, historic palaces, relaxing walks along the waterfront, and, finally, local gastronomic treasures such as orecchiette, focaccia, or panzerotti. The discovery of the city certainly begins in the area of "Bari Vecchia," or the oldest core where most of the city's sites of interest are located. Visiting its historic center is a bit like stepping back in time. Walking through the alleys of Bari Vecchia, one crosses Via Arcobasso, also known as Via Orecchiette, where local ladies prepare, according to ancient recipes, fresh local pasta. Among the city's main attractions are the Basilica of St. Nicholas, built at the end of the 11th century, a pilgrimage destination and symbol of Catholic and Orthodox culture, and the Norman-Swabian Castle, a legacy of Frederick II of Swabia, between the sea and the old town. In addition, numerous Apulian destinations such as the city of Trani (50 km), with its breathtaking scenery, rich in history and harmonious architectural lines, Castel del Monte (55 km), one of Italy's 54 UNESCO World Heritage sites, Alberobello with its typical trulli (55 km) and Castellana Grotte (45 km) are easily accessible from this city. Moving south, Polignano a Mare, known as the "Pearl of the Adriatic," will leave you speechless with its crystal-clear waters and rock embroidered with cavities carved by the sea. Layout of the apartment was interesting and very roomy. Facilities were pretty good but some coffee, milk, olive oil and pepper as basics would have been welcome. ##### Fiona P. Jan 6, 2025 Disliked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication, location, listing accuracy #### No apartment for old folks, winter or goood times 45 stairs from ground floor to bed room in 4th floor, each floor about 4x4m. You keep running up and down again and again. The folding sofa on the ground floor - in the entrance area - cannot be used by 2 persons. A sign says "Do not refold the opened sofa." There is no natural light in the 1st, 2nd and 4th floor. Only the kitchen has natural light, but no view (except to ugly inner courtyards if you open the window).The sofa there is too small and uncomfortable for 2 people, as are the 2 armchairs and sofa in the 2nd and 1st floor. The heating in the 4th floor bedroom and bath did not work. The Control panel did not work. The electrical heater could not be plugged in in the bathroom, not even with the adapter provided (after special request). But one pump next to the lift kept switching on and off (audible throughout the house). Only good thing: it is 300 m from the main drag V. Emmanuelle. ##### Jensjakob V.
