Really nice hotel, not much in the area

Posted 17-Apr-2016
We had a very enjoyable stay at the hotel. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the room was clean and comfortable. The pool area had many beds and lounge chairs over looking silver rock beach, which was a prime destination for kite surfers. However, silver sands is quite far from the main tourist areas and I wouldn't recommend walking around the area after dark (it gets dark quite early near the equator). Other than dining at the hotel, there is one restuarant that is within walking distance, otherwise you will need to travel 10 mins into the nearest town, or 40mins towards the west coast- buses and unofficial bus vans are cheap if you don't mind being packed in; taxis are quite expensive.

It's nothing we paid for

Posted 12-Apr-2016
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Everything
Location: Location is a rural area. difficult to find at night. nothing to do nearby cant even bathe at that beach
The pictures of Silver Point Hotel doesnt do justice for what we paid for. The location is more of a rural area. We expected more from this Hotel. The Reception area is a little office not appealing. We booked for 3 nights but had to leave unexpected after one night. The hotel refused to give us a refund and saying that Expedia will not refund. I honestly dont think Expedia should refer this hotel to their clients. It's not up to their standard. You cant bathe in the beach front. the pool is very small as to what you are seeing in the pics. The hotel staff pleasant not reception staff.

Beach was beautiful, but very lowkey location

Nice hotel but far away from the attractions. Employees were nice. Bar at the pool/beach area over priced. Rooms are decent size but need more lighting.

good hotel on interesting beach

Posted 12-Mar-2016
Pros: Room and Staff of both hotel and restaurat.
Location: out of the way. only activities nearby were kite surfing and sail boarding. for a short taxi ride you could get to the weekend street party
Hotel was very good and well maintained - there were some rooms across the road that I didn't see but I didn't hear any complaints. The staff was very friendly and accomodating.. Restaurant was pleasant with good views. Only drawback was that it was a $10 taxi ride to the closest other restaurant., then on the other hand I could and did buy a lot of taxi rides for a lot less than renting car. This is a good place to have quiet vacation.

Very friendly hotel right on the beach

Posted 21-Feb-2016
Great smaller hotel with friendly staff. Excellent location only 10-15 mins from the airport but with little or no plane noise. Good pool for kids and adults but supervision needed for younger children or less confident swimmers. Right on the beach and a fantastic location for kite surfers/ windsurfers.

Beachfront!

Posted 20-Feb-2016
Rustic feel, located in a neighborhood away from most restaurants and bars - but that's ok because if you want a place to relax and enjoy the view - this is a great place. Right on the beach, but you can't swim in the water due to the rough waves. Tons of kite surfers to watch - very cool! The room we had was very clean and on the newer side, but definitely simple. The food onsite was amazingggg, definitely try the flying cutter sandwich. Its great to sit on the desk and look at all the turtles and crabs! Love Barbados because they accept US dollars, speak english and you can drink the water! The weather is pretty much in the 80s year round and there's always a breeze so you are never sweaty!!! The walls are pretty thin at the hotel, as in at night you can hear the very loud crickets and frogs, kind of like camping... and in the bathroom there's a slanted open vent to the outdoors which acts as your "fan". We kept the bathroom door closed so the air conditioning wouldn't just float out and it made it slightly quieter. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay - we only stayed two nights and went down the beach about 20 minutes to another location. We were there for the Super Bowl and going into town didn't take long at all. We felt very safe.

Great staff, good location

Posted 19-Feb-2016
Location: The location is a bit isolated from other parts of the island, so a car is essential if staying for more then one night.
We stayed just a few hours as our flight was delayed and our overnight was reduced to a few hours. We choose this hotel for its proximity to the AIRPORT (15 minute drive, 21 dollar taxi fare one way). However this hotel has so much more to offer as it is next to kite surfing beach which provides a spectacle of colourful amazing entertainment. The staff are exceptional and very accommodating as was the restaurant which offers excellent food for a beachside lunch. There is a pool, and lots of lounge chairs and a small beach to walk.
