What makes that hotel special is not the premise or anything else but the staff!, always assisting you with a smile to help you make your stay better, from the check point outside, the reception desk to the restaurant cooks and servers, and the guards by the sport center on the beach, male or female. It was an excellent price for the quality of service you get, they truly give you 5 stars service. Free excursion are even included, a sea turtle and Barbados tour excursions. So on the turtles excursion, after 15 min of swimming we almost didn't see any turtles when suddenly 1 came up to us to eat the bread that was thrown by the captain; it literally came up an arm length far from me and i was able to touch its shell before it went away, a memory i will never forget! Unfortunately our cheap $17 ebay gopro wannabe camera was not recording as it should so i have no souvenir footage of it, but It was one of the best moment of my 3 day trip. Some non motorized water sports were also free, so there is always something to do on the beach. All the Caribbean island I have been, Barbados has the most delicious vegetables of all, so fresh and so tasty, even the cucumbers are crunchy! i bet they are organic too. I loved that the buffet incorporated local dishes with lots of vegetable salads as I love vegetables. The chef veggie lasagna or anything beans and chickpeas based were excellent! Our overall experience with the hotel was good. However, the weekend staff in the restauraunts were NOT very pleasant, some even angry about who knows what. And not enough weekend staff for seating, servicing, etc.

I love this resort and community . Currently is my favourite Caribbean destination and extremely sad it is being destroyed by a large no charm establishment. This is truly a gem that will be destroyed by big business. I am happy that I was able to enjoy one last time as I will not be returning under the new name.

Excellent location and beautiful beach
A great place that offers so much..good food, beautiful beach, free excursions. People are the same everywhere (some staff are grumpy but most are great!) My favorite Caribbean Island. You must go before it closes the end of April as Sandals are renovating it. A quaint, slower paced cheerful and just all around lovely place! I hate the big resorts where you have to get up at 6am and reserve a lounger or wait in a huge lineup to eat and Almond Beach Resort is not that. If you are looking for a loud crowded place than don't go here..loved it and so sad it is not going to stay the way it is.

Bedroom and bathroom v tired; room smelt musty. But staff were v friendly, monster buffet breakfast and free drinks. HONEST - most important, I left a Tumi wheelie behind, brand new, and it was there, for Cole gio , the next day. BRAVO and well done

Great Vscation
We have been to Almond Beach twice and both times had a Very enjoyable vacation. Good food, great beach and lovely view from our room. Staff were terrific--friendly and helpful. Best value on the island for sure. So sorry it will be closing soon and replaced by a big, modern, overpriced multi million dollar facility. Almond Beach is a good size and quaint at the same time....it is comfortable but feels like a true Bajan experience rather than a luxury resort that is bereft of local culture and character.

The staff couldn't do enough for you so friendly went out off their way there was 8 off us who went on this holiday but me and my husband booked separate to the other 6 with a garden view when we arrived and realised we were all together the upgraded us to see view room so we were all together. BRILLIANT

wonderful hotel
we just got home on Saturday the hotel and staff were wonderful they work so hard at making sure that everything is alright.I wish that it could stay the same with just a few upgrades.

Lovely natural Bajan Hotel in an excellent situati
Some of the staff appeared a little disinterested but this was made up by others who were committed and totally helpful particularly the office and management staff. Not to mention the bar staff. They serve the best pina colada and rum fruit punch ever!

Not gonna be pretty !
The room and staff were all wonderful ! BUT, The food , edible, but the same every day, Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. Same,Same,Same,Ala cart'e same as buffet only on a fancy plate ! Bars, good drinks if you can find 1 open, No beach service, had to walk the whole resort for a drink! so called entertainment a joke, no activities, Wear shoes while swimming, coral bottom with toe stubbers everywhere. just an all around BORING place! Felt like i was at an old folks home, without bingo !! The VIBE of this place Was NOT my cup of tea !! Sorry Almond beach, Maybe Sandals can do something !!:-((((

This hotel may be on the beach but ?
The attitude of many of the staff including the many Manager’s on site was very poor although later we where told that this hotel has been brought for redevelopment & is being completely knocked down . The food was very much the same every day & booking the restaurant’s was done Wednesday to Wednesday . Also we could only swim in the sea twice on our holiday because the wind was a little more than a breeze causing stronger currents so the lifeguards put up red no swimming flags . Therefore water was murky & not good for snorkelling .

Our stay at almonds resort was wonderful. The food was great and the staff made our stay memorable. Ricardo our island tour bus driver was very knowledgeable and made the trip fun. Jason the life guard was helpful,always willing to assist and provide assistance when needed. Ron was the first to greet us at the resort and was always available to assist us with any queries or concerns we had and made our stay one we'll never forget

This is our third time at Almond Beach. We love it
The hotel is right on the beach. The atmosphere is so relaxed probably being all inclusive and people can just enjoy their holiday. The staff are so friendly and we feel very welcome and comfortable there. This stay was wet and stormy so boat trips were off but we played lots of tennis, walked and met many new people. The events, entertainment and food all make it fabulous.

A little dated but location and staff more than make up for it. Glad we stayed now for we heard that Sandals bought it and are demolishing it to build a new beaches resort. So sad to see such a pleasant , good valued place disappear.

Lovely relaxing holiday in Barbados
Extremely friendly welcome on arrival. Given a bottle of sparkling wine and a hamper as repeat customers. Lovely bedroom with balcony overlooking beach and Caribbean. Good excellent food whether budget or a la carte. All inclusive drinks and cocktails of a good standard. Lovely wines at lunch and dinner. Staff very friendly and naturally respond better when left tips but not many guests give gratuities it would seem. Wonderful long beach ideal for early morning walks. Speightstown a five minute walk away along the beach road. Hotel arranged car hire for the day. Reef just off the beach ideal for snorkelling with lots of tropical fish. On final day able to keep room till 2.00 and then a courtesy room for a shower and change before departure. It's a shame it looks as though this hotel may be closing in April.

Most Relaxing!!
We snorkled at this hotel's beach and saw many different and colorful fish. We enjoyed seeing the monkeys and swimming with the turtles. The color of the water at the beach was BEAUTIFUL and warm. The tours were exciting and memorable!! The landscaping was pretty everywhere you looked. We took a lot of pictures, you didn't need to go to a botanical gardens - it was all there at the resort!! Suzanne, at Guest Services, was very friendly and helpful in every way. Karon took us to "Sugar Cane" restaurant and was so nice and the rest of the week he talked and joked with us. Sophia, the hostess at the restaurants, was very pleasant and made us very comfortable. And compliments to the chefs - the food was delicious!!

Nice hotel close to beach
Enjoyable stay with large comfortable room. Hotel right next to beach; where can see turtles, tropical fish . Can be bit rocky in shallower parts so take surf shoes. Swimming pools nice but v shallow eg 2-4ft. Activities included eg snorkelling, paddle board were good fun & also free excursions were fab especially jeep safari & turtle tour! Food tasty in all 3 restaurants, although Enid’s is a favourite. All staff friendly & welcoming. Take a trip before this gets taken over by sandals around April!

A bit rundown hotel, but with amazing staff!!!
This was my first time in Barbados. I have to say, it's such an amazing country with very warm people. The same in this hotel. The rooms and hotel is a bit rundown, but staff makes up for it. Also they do free excursions, which makes a huge difference. Good choice of food. They also do complimentary water activities- paddling, kayaking and snorkelling. Overall very good experience and I would definitely recommend.

Great time! Great hotel! If your expecting Sandy Lane for these prices maybe you should take your money to cuba or D.R. Bang for your buck you can’t go wrong! Many trips included like turtle trip, Jeep safari, fishing .... all included. You barely find a hotel room for this price In Barbados, much less an ALL INCLUSIVE! So the food and open bar makes this a NO Brainer. Staff is friendly.... food is great. All this non sense of the hotel closing may or not be true, but it’s still business as usual. Grounds maintenance n hotel up keeping us present every day! Free kids club

Don't bother going!
Dirty old and run down. We were all ill, 80% staff miserable. Bed sheets stained and dirty, hairdryer literally burned out and broke, draw wouldn't close, husband and youngest had sickness, food average and uncovered with flies and birds all over it. It's closing down and it's run down......cant believe I spent money on such a dump. Tours were really good though....can't think of anything else positive!

Hotel on the beach.
Courteous staff: very friendly, especially the restaurant staff. Excellent food in both restaurants and buffet. Grounds well kept. Good and clean linen. Management present on the grounds, restaurant and various activities. The only negative point was the busting of a sewage pipe and being on the ground floor, the liquid came in under the floor and through the door. We quickly packed our clothes in our luggage and moved every thing outside. We were relocated to another building in a cheaper, smaller room and offered beverages for the balance of our stay. It was a very stressful experience. We were offered a reasonable compensation for all our trouble.

My biggest complaint was the solicitation on the beach. The first day we rented jet skis any time we were on the beach after that we were bothered by the people renting the jet skis multiple times a day to rent them again. After a while it became bothersome and interrupted our family time. The hotel was also getting a run down. The regulars were even complaining. The beds were hard and the rooms smelled like mildew.

The service at the hotel was great. This was my second visit to the hotel and it was appreciated that I was recognised and greeted by name - this made me feel very special. It is a large resort hotel but because all the rooms are spread over a large area, you never feel crowded. The all inclusive option included a half day island bus tour and various boat trips. There are three restaurants. Most nights there was an a la carte choice. You booked a table each night which meant that there was no queuing. Excellent choice for this standard of hotel

Huge value, huge property.
The Almond Beach Village is a huge property and equally as important, it is a huge value find in Barbados. Our family stayed for 10 days here and really enjoyed our stay. The multiple pools and kids club was loved by the young one as well as the adults. The meal options were good too as the buffet has something for everyone and you can also add in the a la carte options too. Hard to find another all-inclusive property that can compare with the price offered by ABV.

Not bad - shame this affordable hotel is closing
Overall property was good. Most staff we encountered were good. Property does require some maintenance although with the closing of the property next spring (being converted to Sandals which converts accommodations to big $$$$$) I doubt this will happen. Unfortunately we requested maintenance for a couple of room items but unfortunately they didn't follow through on request (twice for the same thing). Food and beverage outlets were good along with the service. Bell Service - great Reception - great F & B - great (prompt in the restaurant as well outside bars) F& B - Sugar Cane Resort - great

This is a decent hotel for the price. There are many amenities (ie. gym, pools, activities) and the staff are very friendly and always willing to help. If you are booking for the excursions that are included, be aware these are often cancelled (some related to the weather and sea conditions which is fair, but others related to mechanical issues etc that should truly have been addressed to maintain the commitment to the customers).

The hotel is right on d beach. Staff was very help
On my arrival I had to pay early check in fee... could have been avoided if the hotel had answered my email. The food was fantastic, the entertainment was great. The staff especially Michael n Trish was very helpful. I didn't like that u do not provide bottled water. I didnt like that some of the foods n drinks aren't traditional bajan dishes. Where is the RUM PUNCH! Please do not put tomatoe sauce on our flying fish! I recommend this hotel....

We had a delightful time. Everyone was friendly and the location and beach and pools were great. We have heard that Sandals bought this resort out and will change it into a beaches which will probably have new facilities and higher prices. Because of that, there were things that were not being maintained properly.

I love to swim and most of their pools were 2 to 3 feet deep one pool was 4 to 5 Feet deep. The pools were lovely to look at but for me so shallow ones are totally useless.

There was no discount for single use. I booked a sea view room but trees blocked the view. My room was the closest to the band area which was very noisy until 11pm. Drinks were horrible, food was poor, sea was rocky, staff were indifferent, everything was old and worn, there was little pressure in the shower, no wifi in the room. I could go on but am just glad I only stayed three days.

The accommodations were adequate however the facility is spread out and requires a great deal of walking for anything. The buffets were ok. The menu items in the restaurant were very good. It was too far from the airport and the cruiser terminal. I would not stay there again for that reason.

I think the hotel perimeter should have a bit more lighting especially the walkways at night. Also they should invest in a bars in the pools not all probably two then I think they will become a five star hotel.

Shower and phone in room were not working upon arrival. Shower was fixed the following morning. Phone was not fixed until one days before leaving. Property is dated, needs to be upgraded. Staff/team in turmoil because of pending closure/sell Majority of staff friendly and personable. Staff in reception area was slow to respond to concerns issues. Once senior management was notified and involved resolution to issues was swift.

Great location, quiet hotel
The rooms and location were lovely and the beach fabulous. The best points were the free excursions and the lovely beach. For our tastes it was a little quiet entertainment-wise and the food was really quite bad, especially the buffet. However, this was not an expensive hotel so overall it was great value.
