Had to come to Blue Hill for a family wedding, and this cute little apartment was just perfect. I’m sure it would have been even better if the restaurant was open, but it was March in Maine, so understandable. I am most concerned about cleanliness, and this was VERY clean.

Convenient central hub over Christmas
We loved the convenient location in town close to our kids over the Christmas holidays. It was a perfect setup for babysitting our infant grand daughter, cooking meals for our gang, exploring around town and walking on the local trails. A bonus was a very special dinner at Arborvine when we arrived!

The website did not disclose that the property was not accessible for the mobility impaired. The apartment was selected because it had a walk-in shower, but it had a steep staircase to the living space with no toilet upstairs. The incongruity was not disclosed. My 86-year-old husband, who has Parkinsonism, coped, with difficulty. The configuration should be disclosed prominently on its web description. The apartment, itself, was beautiful and well furnished. The electric fireplace was a delight during Tropical Storm Lee. It would be perfect for someone young and agile.

Perfect for our needs
Apartment was excellent. Cozy, extra clean and well furnished. It was close enough to everything. Everything was well explained in the little booklet that the owners left. Appreciated the easy to use TV. Sometimes you go to a place and there’s 5 remotes and you need to work everything in a certain order to make it work. Really wanted to try the restaurant just did not realize it was not open on Sunday when we had time available. The only thing I would point out as a tip for some travelers is that the restroom is downstairs. This was fine with us but I can imagine someone getting up late at night and having to go down a set of stairs.

Pristine Apartment in Blue Hill
A charming, spacious apartment perfectly located in the village of Blue Hill. The apartment on second level was pristine clean and comfortably appointed - we had everything we needed. The bed was super comfy!! We were so happy to be there each night after our busy days sightseeing Blue Hill, Bar Harbor, Ellsworth and Deer Island. We were happy to meet our host John and also enjoyed a lovely meal his Arborvine Restaurant across the driveway… reservations a must! Thank you so much for making our stay so special. Blue Hill holds a special place in my heart.

Perfect location, clean and pretty apartment with all you need
My parents stayed for 3 nights, the bed was incredibly comfortable, kitchen had anything we could need, clean and nicely decorated. Perfect place to stay in blue hill, maine where all can be walked to from the apartment.

Easy Arborvine
I stayed at three places in Blue Hill during my vacation. Arborvine had no view of the water nor historic importance. Even so, it was the nicest and the most enjoyable place I stayed. Easy to do everything. Modern, well appointed, nicely furnished.

Clean and Cozy Home-base for Getaway

Cozy Getaway
The apartment was exactly as advertised and bigger than I expected. It was very cute and clean. It had everything we needed. It was about a 45 minute drive to Acadia through really charming coastal towns and nice to come back to the quiet town of Blue Hill. The only disappointment was the brewery next door was closed (I think just for the season). This was minor and we had a number of other wonderful walkable options. I recommend this highly!

Great spot in heart of Blue Hill
The apartment at Arborvine is a gem - cozy, spotless, nicely decorated and in a great location. We spent a wonderful winter weekend there enjoying the gas wood burning stove while it sleeted outside. The kitchen is fully equipped although we didn’t cook - enjoyed a delicious meal at the restaurant and did take out from the local Co-op. In summer the small patio would be lovely with coffee or a glass of wine. The bathroom is downstairs from the rest of the rooms but we did not find that a problem at all. Very private and cozy. John was very quick to respond to questions and with general information. Highly recommend this spot - we hope to come back again soon!

Perfect for us in Blue Hill
We were looking for a place specifically in Blue Hill that would accommodate a visit with family, who lives nearby. This turned out to be a perfect location and a comfortable apartment. Property is very clean and welcoming. Location is quiet, despite being on the grounds of a very good, and locally popular restaurant. Do be aware, and this was not a problem for us but we missed it in the property description, that the apartment is second floor but the bathroom is downstairs in the first floor as you enter. Our one suggestion would be to update the written instructions provided in the apartment, especially as they relate to the heating system. Also, there is a new door lock system that requires a code. Nothing in the pre-arrival message that we received from VRBO described this code access. In fact, the pre-arrival message said the door would be unlocked and the keys would be inside., Fortunately, the owners were on site when we arrived, and were able to fully welcome us to the apartment. If they had not been there, we would not have had the correct instructions to get in. Also, although there is a TV available, we had problems accessing any current or local news, or even signing into our Roku apps due to ”memory capacity issues”. Overall, this is a great place to stay, and we hope to return on our next trip.

Simple unit - great location
This unit has everything you would expect from a short term rental. I may not have reviewed the property info well enough and was surprised that the bathroom was on a different floor from the bedroom. Not a huge deal, but something that surprised me. Again, this is probably my mistake. The check out instructions where detailed which was helpful. I would rerun to this property.

Cozy Apartment in Blue Hill
We loved this apartment. Perfect for the two of us. Made our stay in that part of Maine even more enjoyable. I had made a mistake in the number of days for my reservation. I emailed John and he immediately changed the reservation to accommodate the extra day I needed. Very pleased with the experience.

Peaceful haven in a beautiful location
Lovely and private, tastefully fitted out and self-contained with its own parking- close to all that's going on in Blue Hill but with a sense of being completely tucked away. This is our second time here- the Blue Hill peninsula and Deer Isle are extraordinary and we were incredibly lucky with the weather so it has been a perfect little getaway.

Quiet Getaway 2nd Floor Apartment
The apartment was clean, nice and quiet. We enjoyed the location very much. We were disappointed that the two restaurants listed in the description were not able available to enjoy on site. The brewery was closed completely and the Arborvine was impossible to get a reservation each time we tried. It would have been nice to have a heads up about that. Otherwise all was good!

The apartment is wonderful. Blue Hill is worth exploring (great hikes). Downstairs bathroom was not an issue for us. The Arbovine restaurant is worth checking out as well. Acadia NP is about 40 minutes away and Ellsworth about 20.

We appreciated the lovely, well appointed apartment in a quiet neighborhood with views of the woods and a nice little porch. The description on the Vrbo site did not mention that the bathroom is on the ground level which might be a problem for some.

Everything was as advertised and a very good choice for a relatively late booking.
Nice property in great downtown location. Well stocked kitchen. Nice gas fireplace for ambiance. Skylight directly above head of bed a little unconventional and the bed was a tad firm for me. Bath Towels had a funk smell when wet… even after we had them change them out. Probably need new towels or bleach the ones they have. Other wise great place. We’d book it again!
