Opening in 1932, it has served the town of Bar Harbor as a movie palace ever since, accomodating such prominent families as the Rockefellers on their vacations to nearby Mount Desert Island. Kept in fantastic condition over the years, the theatre still has most of its original interior: seats, curtains, and even the original lighting board for stage performances. The location is convenient. The kitchen is stocked well. The main floor bedroom is not a bedroom; it’s a converted room that’s off the main area so there is issue with noise and privacy since the sliding doors do not fully close The home does show some age. The carpet needs some love or changes out. We had issues with the master shower upon arrival and they were informed by the cleaning staff however it was not addressed so we again had issues later on. We were told there was a plumber that to fixWould be stay there again we would if we only needed 3 bedrooms instead of 4. ##### sherry l.
