There was even a level 2 EV charger conveniently located around the corner. We plugged in, walked home, and picked up our car at 100% charge the following morning for our departure. It was perfect for walking to restaurants, stores, parks, and Lees-McRae College. The location is also excellent for visiting the many excellent area attractions such as Grandfather Mountain, Linville Caverns, Linville Falls, Sugar Mountain, Beech Mountain, the Alpine Coaster, and Mast General. Boone and Blowing Rock are short drives away, and so is Blue Ridge Parkway. It's a really great location. The townhouse is great for a family, having three bedrooms, and was very clean and well apportioned. The kitchen was nice, and the back deck on each level made for a nice place to relax in the early evenings outside, enjoying the mountain air. Even better, the host, Alyson, is fabulous. She was very responsive to every communication. They have a nice personal guide for the house, including tips and suggestions for the area. Alyson also made sure we were aware of local events and had great suggestions for us to consider during our stay. I highly recommend Whispering Pines Retreat! It was well maintained, clean and comfortable.
