Jan 7, 2026 Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication, location, listing accuracy We were a group of 9 - 2 families - 4 adults with 5 kids- and we all really had the best time. The house was very well maintained and just what you want when you come to the high country in December. The house was decorated for Christmas which was a nice touch. Our kids especially enjoyed the hot tub and air hockey table and we loved having a separate den for them to hang out in. The house was very well equipped from linens to s’more sticks, boot/glove dryers, and plenty of blankets. The host checked in on us several times and is probably the best communication I’ve ever had from a rental agency. I am a picky renter and I will rent this place again. Plenty to do in the area - we enjoyed the sleds in the garage at the free sledding hill in the town of Beech Mountain which is a few minute drive away, also skied Sugar Mountain & tubed and my kids loved Sugar Creek Gem mining too. On the drive to the house - this was my first time on Beech Mountain and I have not spent much time in the High Country and so if you are a frequent visitor you probably know this - but the roads on the mountain are steep and windy and the last 1/4 mile to the house is on a dirt/gravel road… when they say 4WD and snow chains recommend in the winter - I would listen.
