We had an amazing stay at Old Thai Heng Hotel. First of all, we got there past midnight after landing in Thailand and we had written to the hotel at the very last minute before our standby flight to make sure they were aware that we were going to arrive late and we received an almost instant response which we really appreciated. It made us feel more secure. Then, when we arrived, our room had a very strong cigarette smell unfortunately so we went back to the front desk right away to ask for another room and the lady at the front desk was kind enough to upgrade us into a better room for the inconvenients and it was truly amazing. The best room we’ve had so far in our entire trip to Thailand (which has been over 1 week now in many different hotels). The bed was really comfortable and the shower SUPER spacious and clean. This was by far our cleanest bathroom in Thailand. The only downside is that our room was facing a quite busy street and we could hear the buzzing street in the early morning hours, but we sleep with earplugs so it wasn’t that much of an issue. The best part was the location in Chinatown near the amazing night markets. I wish we spent more time there to explore all the tasty restaurants around. Was unable to slp well that night. It was quite late and I can hear furniture shifting drag around on top us and also can hear the noise coming from beside room. Not really sound proof.
