Our first clue to what was to come was the ear plugs on our night stand when we arrived. Our room faced the main street of Banff and the people yelling, screaming and partying continued past 3:30 on a-now Monday morning. While I know the hotel cannot control the people outside a heads up upon check in, or booking or a reflection on the fact that you will not be sleeping for the first night of your work trip could have been reflected in the price. Transparency would have been nice.

Beautiful hotel in the heart of Banff! Rooms are large with huge ceilings and Mountain View’s. Love the hot tub and lounge area on the roof

I didn't know what to expect, having never stayed in Banff before, but this is a great hotel, with excellent rates in the off season. Very impressed overall,and we got a free upgrade for a room with a view. Very attentive front desk person, thanks! The only minor quibble was a charge for parking, that wasn't outlined on Expedia. Top rate otherwise.

Well located in the center of downtown. Pretty much everything is in walking distance. Being downtown, it can be subject to some noise from the street but ear plugs took care of that :) Would definitely stay again.

They gave us a room that had joining room door. Whoever was beside us was very loud, and they kept playing with the joining door which made it very uneasy. The fans were also very loud and it wasn’t the cleanest. It’s no wonder they leave ear plugs in the room, So obvious why. I would not recommend, We did not sleep a wink Very dissatisfied

Historical building in downtown location. Partially renovated with long and confusing hallways to get to the room. Our room was small and was facing the maintenance area. The view was not attractive and it was noisy from all equipment installed on the roof.

The hotel located in the center of Banff, walkable to all the shopping areas and dinning restaurants, clean and quiet, the kids loved the rooftop hot tub. Definitely come back again.

Great location, well first-come fist-served organization to enjoy the hot tub. Some cleaning issues, the little stool from the desk had stains on the fabric. The same with the carpet.

Fantastic location within walking distance of shops and restaurants. Bus stop right across the street takes you to explore the Banff Springs hotel, gondola or hot springs. We were able to park but it is first come first serve so that is the only downside of coming with a car if there are no spots available. Comfortable beds and would definitely stay again.

Our hotel room had a view of a brick wall. It should have been advertised as a room without a view, but it wasn’t. We won’t be back, considering we could have booked a different hotel for the same price and would have had a view. Incredibly disappointing.

Great location, nice renovated rooms, overflow parking was closer than I figured. Hotel was able to accommodate our request for a quiet room. Very friendly attendant in the lounge area. Glad to see there was a system to get into the hot tubs which are popular at this time of year. Would definitely come back again.

The staff should be more inform what’s around or at least consider they’re working at a tourist area. It is very important to know the minimal because when I ask not a single staff knew anything about anything e.g. buss to Johnston canyon or where can I get information, what events or what’s around such us bars or anything! The shampoo, conditioner and body wash was horrible!!! Smells like cooking oil! And very dry for the air like bad bad products. I understand is handmade and natural but I’ve tried things like that and this is the worse!

Well the location and price are great and the rooms are pretty nice. The big issues are that they advertise the great rooftop hot tubs in which they have two 8 person hot tubs. What they don’t tell you is that they only allow 4 in each and set you on 15min time limits….. then the house keeping staff doesn’t report when they find stuff forgotten and the front desk staff act like you are inconveniencing them for checking to find the $150 dollars in chargers ( I fully recognize this is my fault for forgetting them). What this does do is tell me the service level of the staff does not match the price and that your things may not be so safe in the hotel.

Get there in time to get a parking spot other than that nice and decent . Front side rooms can be noisy on sunday and weekend nights due to people out there partyig but i was warned and still took it lol.. i liked the roof top hot tub .. i wish it was newer but hey cant get it all .will visit again

Loved our stay at Mount Royal. Hotel restaurant, Brazen , is one of best in Banff. So convenient being right downtown. Our suite was clean and expansive and appreciated a Nespresso machine instead of hated Kuerigs. Check in was classy. Ski shuttle pickup for a Louise and Sunshine is in the hotel parking lot. Complaints are more like minor quibbles. 1) one of the roof top hot-tubs needs work. 2) the sitting room in the suite had zero artwork on the walls. 3) the sitting room could use a bench by the entry door.

If you like to be waken up by people with their sky boots at 6am going around the room and slamming their doors go ahead. Very disappointed and not going back again. The tub was also not draining when taking a shower.
