"Room needs service & hallway smells terrible "
Overall it was a nice stay except that the furnace made a terrible smell in the room, the bathroom sink was clogged and the toilet would run the water until we had to lift the top and stop it. We were on the first floor and the whole hallway smelled disgusting, clearly coming from the garbage room. It was also very hard to get ahold of the front desk, I called a few times with no answer. Friday night we rented movies and could not get the DVD player to work and when I finally got ahold of someone at 8pm he said everyone was gone home and could not help us. Also, we mentioned to the front desk that when the fireplace is turned on it melts the bottom of the DVD player, the sticker on it was melted onto the ledge. Would stay at this hotel again but not through paradise, only directly through the grand rockies resort.

Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise

"Wow!"
This hotel has been on my bucket list for some time. The level of service at the Fairmont brand is top notch. It just doesn't get any better. And this particular Fairmont has the added benefit of being located at one of the most beautiful places on Earth. It is expensive, but it is worth it. The food at all the restaurants was great. Their front desk staff was excellent. The concierge was always extremely helpful. There is nothing we asked for that they didn't bend over backwards to accommodate. The rooms are very nice. Spring for the view. It's simply breathtaking. My only criticism is that the hotel and Lake Louise itself are so popular, that it is overrun with tourists. The lobby gets extremely crowded in the middle of the day, and the grounds are crawling with tourists bused in non-stop all day long. So it lacked a little of the peace I looked for from our getaway to the Canadian Rockies. Nearby Moraine Lake and the Moraine Lake Lodge may be a good option for a second trip, seeing as the lake is just as beautiful, but only half as crowded. However, you should at least splurge once in your life and spend a few days at this fantastic hotel!

"2nd time @ The Lodges. "
Our second visit to the Lodges and it is still a great place to stay. We will return and recommend to anyone looking for a very comfortable place to stay away from Banff downtown.

"convenient access to Banff"
The room was very comfortable. However, housekeeping left something to be desired. Not all trash was picked up. The sheet over one bed was dirty.
