"When the unexpected occurs...."
While on vacation in Canmore one of our group experienced a medical emergency, including surgery and a subsequent 8 day hospital stay for that person. What was supposed to be a 3 night stay at Stoneridge turned into 12 nights for the rest of us. In the midst of a very chaotic time, the staff at Stoneridge was a steadying helpful and compassionate force! They worked hard to accommodate our needs and treated us with humanity and care. The place is very nice and a very convenient location to explore the beautiful area around Banff. Canmore itself has lots to offer. But what we'll mostly remember is the people at Stoneridge and how they came to our aid.

Helpful, friendly staff. Cozy rooms, did not hear the trains at all, and slept with window open! Loved the water kettle for tea in addition to the coffee maker.

"Wonderful condo for a family or 2 couples "
Wonderful location - close to Canmore, Banff. We had a corner unit and the view of the mountains was great. Spacious unit for a family or 2 couples (2 bedrooms/2 baths). Had problems with the TV's not working; called Maintenance and he was right up & fixed the problem. Fireplace did not work. Had problems with the swipe card not wanting to allow us into the bldg. ....patience is required. We booked through Expedia and were told by them that we did not have to put a $50 deposit down on check-in....Incorrect.........Everyone has to put a $50 deposit down for damages/incidentals. The only negative thing was when we were checking out. We had parked outside of the front desk when the Concierge van pulled up, blocked us in where we could not get out. When the male passenger (one of the workers) got out of the van to go inside the front desk area, we said that we were blocked in, and his comment to us was: TELL HER TO MOVE" and he continued to go inside. The driver obviously didn't care if we were blocked in as the van did not move. We were able to back up a few times and squeeze our way out. Kinda left a "bad impression"!!!

"Good location and value"
We stayed in a two bedroom condo which was clean with everything you needed for a family once we got in to the property. The check in process is to visit another holiday complex near the condo's. Unfortunately we booked with expedia and they did not make this clear so we had to call back to the UK to get details. They did supply a local number but there was just an answer service on this number. We even visited a local business who were very helpful and called the number but could never get an answer. The property once you did get in was great. Clean and very well equipped with secure parking. Again lack of info let the company down. When you went to use the hot tub on the top floor you had to use a stairwell which you did not get a key to so were then locked in the stairwell ! A resident let us out and explained you have to go to the basement where the parking is and then take the elevator to your level, not the best system if you have just got out a hot tub ! After we left the we realised we had left something behind and called the number given by reception but again only got the answer service and they never returned any calls. Would stay again now we know the process as the room was great but the service lets it down.

"Great cabin experience"
We stayed at several different places in Banff and Jasper National Parks, including the Fairmont at Lake Louise. Castle Mt Chalets (cabin18 for 2) was by far our favorite! It was close to excellent trails, the room was cozy, very clean, and well stocked. We really enjoyed talking to others staying at the chalets by the grills while cooking our steak dinners. The trains are awesome and added to the ambiance. They did not wake us up at night. All together, a wonderful experience and we can't wait to return.
