We’ve stayed at this hotel before and like the previous time, we enjoyed our stay. Check-in is easiest through their mobile app and the key is accessible through your phone. The room was modern and clean. Plenty of parking spaces available and street parking is available as well. Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel.

Loved the Dorothy Motel! The location right next to A&W and the gas station was very convenient. Lots of parking and check in was very easy at the Caribou

When we first walked in there was a pop can under the bed so I’m assuming they don’t clean there floors there where long brown hairs in the bed and on the pillows I didn’t appreciate the front desk saying our room number at check in as when i worked in Banff that was a big no no because of safety the room we where in was right under where the staff do laundry or there cleaning room so we counsel heard them slamming the door all day the cups in the bath rooms also had water residue marks on them so I was afraid those maybe won’t cleaned either.

Brought our dog along on a one night stop. They even gave him a pet bed to lay on which he loved. Was good beds, a quiet sleep.

Unfortunately, three rooms that we were shown were dirty, with trash under one of the beds, stains on most of the sheets, and hair throughout the bathrooms. Ended up canceling and booking elsewhere.

The Dorothy is simplicity at its finest. If you’re looking for a quiet, clean and quaint spot to take it easy after a long day of exploring Banff, this is it. The room was clean and suitable for a family, couple or solo explorer. I appreciated the easy parking, great soaps, a real coffee mug (for real the hotel paper ones suck), and how quiet it was in the evening. The balcony is a great feature too — couldn’t make use of it due to weather but I’ll be back again, hopefully during warming months!

overall decent place for budget friendly stay at Banff, the heater/AC unit is very loud even at lowest fan setting (need ear plugs to sleep), understand it is not a "top of the line" unit, so be prepared room is either too hot or cold and very dry. Lots parking and pretty quiet area.

Incorrect information provided about check-in via app. We had to walk to the Caribou Lodge to check-in and our shuttle had dropped us at the Dorothy as directed in the welcome email from hotel. Keycard stopped working mid way through stay and very inconvenient to walk 15 minutes round trip in the snow to recover a new one at the Lodge. Better communication would be appreciated prior to stay and easier problem solving would be great.

Newly renovated rooms, clean and ease of check in. Able to use pool and gym facilities of caribou lodge. Transit pass is convenient for getting into town without dealing with parking. Rocky Mountain Soap Co. washroom products are pleasant.

The property was in a great location and wasn’t too far away from the main section of the Banff town. Parking on site was very convenient and the property was well maintained. The check in/out staff were helpful and friendly. Affordability of the room was the main reason why I chose the Dorthy Motel and I will be staying here again in the future if possible!

When we got to the place, the card to get in the room didn’t work. There’s nobody doing the check in at the place, you have to do the check-in though another hotel. I got a message saying that I would be able to do my check-in with my phone. It doesn’t work so you have not other choice than going to the other hotel to do your check-in. For future guest, pre-paid reservations will need a credit card on file for the app to work and you must enable Bluetooth on your device to receive a key. The Caribou Lodge is available 24 hours a day to assist with any issue during your stay.

It’s what’s on the inside that counts!!!
Very very very clean. My room right up to date with modern amenities and actually more amenities than your normal room would have. Lights under the frame of the bed to name one. Check in was a little inconvenient (had to go to different hotel for keys). The outside isn’t too bad for a motel. Don’t let it fool you…….. it’s probably the best and most clean motel I’ve ever stayed in hands down.

It was our first time at Banff, really like the place, the motel was really clean, it was the perfect weekend for us and our dog!, everything is at walk distance and the view from anywhere in the city is breathtaking!
