Sleeps 2 – 4 adults. Three large comfortable sofas, one is a large sofa bed allowing two extra guests to be accommodated. Huge single piece banqueting Elm table, solid oak bench and 6 chairs. Comfortably dines 10\. Additional table can sit another 4\. Solid Elm floorboards with rugs throughout cottage except bathroom which has exquisite African slate floor. Private garden with stunning views, includes hot tub, BBQ & Chiminea. Walnut, the crowning glory is gloriously spacious for two. Boasting impressive features in a galleried open plan layout, warm and expansive, it is truly a place to indulge. When special occasions demand the best. Walnut occupies the top two floors of the converted barn. An outside solid Oak staircase leads you into the kitchen with solid oak units and Welsh slate worktop. Sunlight floods into the vast living area through an entire gable of elegant oak windows overlooking the courtyard. Competing for attention is the massive stone fireplace with its chimney breast towering up to the pitched ceiling of the sleeping gallery above. Exposed stone walls, oak beams, wood panelling and polished elm floor combine with the comfortable seating to create a warm and luxurious ambiance. The magnificent, slate tiled bathroom, off the living room, has a large deep bath and separate shower. A solid elm staircase leads upstairs to the sleeping area landing in front of a magnificent stone arched window giving glorious views down to the pond and across the picturesque valley from your super-king sized bed. A second sleeping area with twin beds is accessed through the main bedroom, separated by heavy curtains. The private garden area to this accommodation is a bonus, and we used the hot tub every day. Lovely walks around the 70 acres and the small lake has trout if you like to fish - also other equipment available for the water. The whole area is beautifully laid out with a rill in the courtyard and the water trickling down is very soothing. The staff and family are exceptionally kind and helpful. A quiet relaxing place to stay. Lots to do within a 30 minute drive. We loved everything - games lawn, sgtand-up paddle boarding in the lake, catching/feeding fish in the lake, walking around the spacious grounds, clean & well-equipped kitchen. Only down side was the extremely hot weather in the afternoons which was out of anyone's control. Thankfully, the cottage was so comfortable we could just have a short siesta or read during the hot afternoons. There are many wonderful places to visit locally but if you just want to relax and unwind there is no where more perfect. Since we first visited hot tubs have been added so you can enjoy the amazing views whist soaking in the bubbles! Our stay in Walnut was totally relaxing, particularly with the amazing views and garden hot tub. It's also very well-appointed and the craftsmanship of the wooden fittings is truly unique. There's lots to explore such as the pretty grounds, well-equipped games room and further beyond in Oxfordshire, but it's just as pleasant to take in the view from the garden, especially at sunset. Heath Farm has an altruistic ethos which celebrates local skills and respects the environment. Finally, the owners were very welcoming and helpful and their love for Heath Farm really shows.
