Won't book again
Shuttle from airport to hotel was not available after prior arrangements and confirmation that it would be there. I called to find out where the shuttle was and was simply told to get a taxi as the hotel shuttle was not available. Building seemed to be under construction. Reception located in container outside. Room was not very clean despite looking comfortable. After the second night I had bite marks all over my arms and feet.

What i preferred staying at Onomo in Bamako was the courtesy and professionalism of the staff, though I enjoyed the room which in both occasions I staid there were spotless and comfortable. I didn't make use of the amenities though the swimming pool definitely looked small, but my main issue is that there is room for improvement in the lobby that feels a bit crammed and could be a bit more cozy. But overall I felt welcome and enjoyed my stay there.

Reasonably priced hotel in Bamako
I prefer to stay at the Onomo when I am in Bamako for work as it convenientally located, has a restaurant if we did not want to go out to eat and one generally feels safe there. The hotel rooms have what you need and are on the smaller side but there is a "business corner" in the lobby from which we worked for a couple of days that was convenient and comfortable. There is no closet but a rod to hang a limited number of clothes. One can request a hairdryer at the reception but there is only one for the entire hotel so one has to plan ahead. The internet was good and strong enough to stream a movie or TV show in the evening after work. There is a bar and a restaurant which has good reasonably priced food ranging from local specialties to kebabs, pizza and pasta. Something for everyone. The gym currently only has a stationary bike and rowing machine that work. The treadmill and eliptical are broken. There are also weights and a weightlifting machine.

Reservations didn't tell the front desk about my reservation, some confusion on arrival. Booked for 2 people but the room was set up for 1 person only. Small things but indicative, and not welcome when the traveler is tired. Otherwise, ok for a short stay.

Only problem was that we had to wait 1hour+ for my room, due to the fact that they were repairing the rooms air conditioner. Nevertheless, they did not charge me additional for late checkout the next day. Good understanding of business I would say. Staff is always friendly and willing to help.

I was on business tour and it is important to be connected on net. The internet was not working and the staff was also not very helpful to resolve the issue. We checked in at 5 pm and still the room was not ready, when finally we got our room the room was not properly cleaned and no towels were placed in bathroom.

Solid security at the gate, i do not know if it was necessary, i was told it was. This meant you have to get off your car at the gate, place your hand baggage in a scanner, get yourself scanned and walk down to the lobby while your car is subjected to a thourough check and then follows you inside. Also the exterior of the hotel is like a fortress, it has a solid brick fortress which is intimidating. so you have to think twice before stepping out of the hotel for anything other than work. Apart from this, the restaurant is good, cleanliness is top class, gym equipment is cranky, needs maintenance. Nice pool. Rooms are small, no wardrobes and open bathroom, this seems to be a standard design as in all Onomo properties that i have been to

All rooms face the courtyard, so there is not much of a view, and unless you draw the curtains, you will be able to see others, and others will be able to see you. Rooms are also small. But the service is good, and the food is decent.

I stayed a week at Onomo recently. It's a good enough hotel for the purpose I was staying in Bamako. From the outside the hotel looks not much like a hotel - I arrived late - as the AirFrance flights do arrive 9:30pm and got to the hotel a little after 11pm. Big steel gates with a team of security guards to greet the incoming vehicles. Having travelled from the USA on the Saturday, and all day Sunday to get to Bamako - the fast check-in was REALLY appreciated. I had no local cash on me to tip the porter - but he was friendly non-the-less whether he received one or not. The room is small, but adequate if all you are doing is using the room to bathe and sleep. The water is hot and the pressure is good. Too small to be used as a work environment - even if they do try add a small table and chair in the room. It's just out-of-place and adds clutter. Better to work downstairs where there is a work area in the reception. The internet works. There is a place for hanging clothing, and a small camping closet which I found useful for additional items that don't hang. Never switched on the TV once. Although breakfast is available daily, I only had fruit on one day from the buffet. Found the bar menu more appetizing than the formal dinner menu. I won't order the mutton stew. They had a social evening (Sat) out in the Atrium which is lush and pretty with local musicians to entertain. Checked out without any of the problems others report with an Expedia booking. There is an ATM on-site.

The hotel couldn't find my clients booking. When they did find it they put him in a single room when a Superior room was booked and paid for. He had to return to the same hotel again for his second stay and again no booking was found. They printed off the voucher on their side that said I had booked a single room when my voucher clearly states Superior Room

La bonne adresse à Bamako
L'hôtel reste une valeur sûre. C'est un hôtel à taille humaine correctement sécurisé sans pour autant occasionner de stress inutile. Les chambres sont confortables et nombre d'entre elles ont été rénovées avec des équipements parfaitement intégrés, ce qui résout la difficulté de rangement rencontrée auparavant. La nourriture est très correcte. Mais il faut insister sur ce qui fait la valeur de ce lieu : c'est l'amabilité et la gentillesse de tout le personnel, ce qui fait de cet endroit un lieu de convivialité et de sérénité. Bravo à toute l'équipe!

Un hôtel sympa à échelle humaine à Bamako
L'hôtel Onomo est une bâtisse de briques en terre où toutes les chambres sont orientées vers un splendide jardin intérieur. Il allie donc le charme et un choix de contrôle thermique. Il est à échelle humaine Le personnel est particulièrement chaleureux et attentif. Un service de sécurité garantit l'accès limité aux seuls clients. Il est d'accès facile et proche de tous les endroits importants de Bamako. Les chambres peuvent sembler basiques mais tout est fonctionnel et ma propreté est irréprochable. Un petit effort serait toutefois apprécié pour la restauration et le petit déjeuner.
