The wood burning stove and private enclosed garden make it a real home from home and it is a short walk to pubs, restaurants, cafes and shops. Sleeps 4 adults comfortably and there is space for an additional travel cot for infants. Restaurants and the pub were a short walk away (oct is the end of the season for many store/business owners. The Whiskey Castle was closed but we were happy to step in the pub for some whiskey sampling there). We enjoyed building a fire in the wood stove and watching a movie on Netflix at the end of the evening after a full day of sightseeing and activities. The cottage came as billed. It was relatively comfortable, although the furniture and beds are more serviceable than super comfortable. Not having the drying machine was a drawback. Tomintoul itself is small - few restaurants and only basic supplies at the Post Office. Again, that was billed in the information. Communicating with Alisa was straightforward. In all, the cottage was safe and clean but if you are looking for a spot with more services Tomintoul is probably not for you. ##### Paul L.
