Room was OK situated in a woodland area but there are a number of insects in the room which is probably what you would expect. Breakfast was nice. Negative was I hardly slept due to a cockerel crowing all night.

I absolutely loved staying here. The property is amazing and so peaceful. It’s 30 min north of Ubud, so it’s much more tranquil and secluded. And the infinity pool, spa, and views are spectacular. But what I loved most about this resort was the staff. Never have I ever felt such incredible hospitality. Everyone learned my name and would greet me “Hello Ms. Sarah” around the property. They would even ask me about the excursions that I booked each day through the hotel. Nanis and Jo in particular was so kind and warm, I loved getting to know them both. If you want to experience authentic Balinese hospitality and stay in a luxurious resort, Pura Gangga is the place to be!

Amazing resort and best staff
Thank you for an amazing stay. The resort was stunning, the massages were wonderful, the yoga was great and the hotel was so accommodating preparing breakfast take away boxes for 2 mornings that we had to leave early and would have missed breakfast. Wonderful friendly staff. We absolutely loved our stay and would highly recommend this gem in Sebatu. Thank you!

Avoid at all costs.
Terrible stay, the room was not habitable. There was mould all over the ceiling, a foul smell of damp. It was the first time I ever had to wear a mask to sleep at a hotel. The towels and sheets have holes in them, as do the mosquito nets which also smelled as though they hadn't been washed in months.

Chilled out Resort
This resort is 30 minutes north of Ubud and we stayed for 6 nights. Our initial thoughts were that it could be too remote, however, having experienced the busy rice terraces of Tegalalang and hectic Ubud, it was great to get get on the courtesy shuttle provided by Puri Gagga resort and return to the peaceful vibe there. The staff were very, but not overly, attentive and very well trained. We arranged the downhill cycle via the resort which ended with a beautiful ‘picnic’, a private lunch for the 2 of us set up under a thatched cover in the middle of paddy fields with a delicious meal. It was a great experience and Nanis who led us was great. It was a good location to do white water rafting from (still an hour away) and the resort provided a driver to and from the airport (additional cost). All in all we loved our stay at this resort and even did the free yoga classes for beginners each morning which was a really good way to start the day. We would highly recommend this place if you like a chilled vibe, good service, peace and tranquility as well as very friendly but professional staff. We were sorry to leave.

Honeymoon Garden Villa
Amazing and relaxing spa resort in the jungle! Not that close to Ubud (30 mins by far) just so you are aware. It is very nice being out of the hustle and bustle though. We stayed in the garden villa which was very lovely and had a great outdoor bathroom space with a good shower and bath. Beware it is actually visible from another room balcony though so this is a bit weird... Service is fantastic, food is great and reasonably priced for its quality, house wine is fine, spa and massages are great, pool is lovely with good views and beds, yoga class is brilliant, cooking class is expensive but definitely worth it. Staff will always go above and beyond, and the dinner for two package is amazing and actually the same price pretty much as a normal dinner but comes with flowers and candles and a whole experience!

Fantastic break
This was a fantastic four day getaway,The staff picked us up from airport despite the Midnight landing.The views from hotel of the natural habitat are amazing you can get peace and tranquility here .All the staff were fantastic friendly and breakfast was great.A free shuttle service to Ubad was taken advantage of daily and even the markets nearby were nice and cheap.Vira at restaurant was a great hostess and Jock,Harry,John and the receptionists made our time special.The room too was very spacious.I would definitely come back and recommend this place to anyone.

Love the isolation feel and cultural connection it has to the local village of Sebatu. Enjoy villagers coming to the hotel to demonstrate handicrafts and cultural dance performances. Staff are always helpful and friendly. I do feel the menu in the restaurant needs to expanded and improved especially for lunch and dinner. Found myself having to shuttle to Ubud for dinner more times than i wanted to.

Just awesome! the property is luxurious. Few things to improve: bathroom could deserve more attention. The only negative thing is location, difficult to move around if you dont have your own or arranged transport.

Secluded Paradise
Puri Gangga Resort was a very enjoyable hotel. Out of the 10 hotels we stayed in during our 3 week journey, Puri Gangga Resort was one of our top three favorites. It has exactly the vibe we were looking for after a busy few days in the city--more secluded and relaxing. Our spa experiences were amazing and the front desk service was top-notch. We really needed some help to schedule a fast boat and they did an excellent job AND even provided us with a breakfast box for our early departure.

An interesting place
The resort was very nice, comfortable and the service was amazing! Deep down I was hoping to be more remote then we were and the motorbike noises from road was a reminder of how many ppl live in the area. It’s also down a big hill with no place to really walk to and the hotel restaurant is tupical tourist prices so we always ate in Ubud. But it’s quiet in the morning. No roosters and free yoga daily! Which was great! The service and ppl were truely a pleasure.

Rustic, relaxing hotel
As a returning customer all the staff and management made me feel very special. They offered my a prime room location with patio over looking the pool, and just a short walk to the Kalisha restaurant. I was offered 20% discount off all food and beverages. Management invited me to lunch at their new Puri Gangga Coffee Shop in Ubud, which is a delightful modern airy space that serves delicious food as well as great locally grown coffee.

Didn't live up to the expectations
Our room was big and the veranda was lovely, but bugs kept entering the room because there were gaps between the door and the wall. The breakfast was not impressive, and the service slow. The space by the pool was lovely. Would recommend to find somewhere else to eat, as the food in the hotel was not great.

Good choice if you want to stay in a rural area
If you like away from main Ubud CBD area this the the place. Staff are very friendly, understanding and always happy to help ASAP. We did a Purification ceremony, local Sebatu village visit and meeting wood craftsman. spa/massage was excellent. Guide Nance was excellent and she was the one who took care of us when we checked in. Due to my unforeseen injury in Ubud Central they even accommodated our request for a room close to reception due to problems with the mobility. They upgraded my room. their welcoming afternoon tea is Delicious and well presented. They took care of our vegetarian diet with a grace. Only make sure that you are not paranoid/afraid about local animals - they do stay around the property/ room at times. Cannot ask anything more.

Peaceful Location
Beautiful and inviting resort tucked away on a tropical hillside near the artists town of Ubud. Located fsr from the tourist crowds of Uluwatu (3 hours) and located very close to a large and culturally important temple, this resort provided a peaceful experience we will never forget! The staff are young and friendly who grew up in the local village providing a life changing experience for us learning about the Balinese culture! We also got to experience wild monkeys for the first time at a nearby sanctuary in Ubud. The resort is also located near terraced rice fields that are worth visiting! This resort is a must stay! I would highly recommend it to all my friends. No pictures can do the resort justice! Amazing.

Nice hotel-perfect management
I have i have stayed at puri gangga 2 days, everyone is extremely friendly and professional, they try to make everything just to ensure that the guest is satisfied. They provide a daily shuttles to ubud center which is so conveniant. The infinity pool is waw, the breakfast is good and the free foot massage is excellent and must to try. We have tried the yoga class at 8:30, which is good as well. Overall, these guys knows how to manage a hotel and how to make a customer satisfied.i would definitley come back again.

Great hotel situated centrally in Bali
Hotel is located on a hillside overlooking a temple in the Jungle. Although it is centrally located for everything in Bali, the hotel is a secluded spar retreat with an infinite-pool, restaurant and Bar, with the offer of free transport into Ubad multiple times each day, Ubad is about 30 minutes away drive away. The hotel staff are attentive, friendly and professional. All the staff are a credit to the hotel, including the cleaners, gardeners, activity liaison staff, manager, bar-staff and all the other staff. The isolating of the hotel means some of the rates are considerably more than in Ubad where prices are highly competitive due to the amount of choice in town. This hotel is well suited if you want to get away from it all and are not looking for the lowest prices. If you are on a budget it is easy to take the free transport into the town of Ubad and eat, shop or use the spars there. The hotel resort is located on the side of a hill and there are many steps and ramps to get to the rooms.

Beautiful hotel with the best staff
Puri Gangga was a great experience in Bali! The hotel was beautiful and they had many fun activities that were provided by the resort. Breakfast was included in our package and it was delicious! I love that they had several options and the local breakfast options were definitely the best. Our favorite part of the entire experience was the staff. They were so so nice and pleasant to be around. We had many questions and they never hesitated to help, no matter the hour! Everyone on staff was great but the two ladies that stood out to is were Mia and Ninanisha (sorry if I mispelled it). Overall I would definitely recommend all my friends and family and we will definitely visit again!

A diamond in the rough
What a beautiful little treasure staffed with the friendliest people on earth. Rooms are spacious, clean & comfortable. Restaurant serves delicious Indonesian fare & other dishes. Many to choose from at each meal. You will not go hungry here. My husband & I will stay here again the next time we are in Bali simply because the staff is so AMAZING! & ladies if you are offered the free 15 minute welcome foot massage, do it! Simply divine!

Very relaxing. If you want to be away from all the hustle and bustle of towns this is the place to go. Spectacular surroundings. Staff very friendly. Down side not enough sun beds, we were given yogo exercise mats but didn't have to use them as beds did become available but not together. Beautiful place.

Amazing stay in beautiful Sebatu
My family and I travelled together to Sebatu for a 4 night stay at this hotel. They catered exceptionally well for our group of 9. Great value for money. The breakfast was amazing and very filling. Food at the restaurant was great. Staff were lovely and very helpful. Having the shuttle into Ubud was helpful though we found ourselves wanting to stay local more often as we fell in love with the village of Sebatu. There were small grocery shops and a few restaurants within a 5 min drive that could be organised through the hotel. We would defiantly recommend this place. View was amazing from the pool restaurant and the rooms.

Nice hotel near Water Temple
The location is fantastic. 2min walk from the Water Temple, for which the hotel pays for your visitation. 10min walk from lovely local village. The suits have amazing views of the jungle and the volcano from the veranda and a view of rices patties from the front door. The pool is small but it is never crowded, it makes up for its size with the view of the jungle that this infinity pool provides. Most of the food is nice however like all places in Bali, it does not compare to Thai food and the western food could use some work. I do recommend that you buy your own long life milk to keep in you fridge at any hotel as all the provide in the rooms is powdered milk. The rooms need some maintenance. The paint is pealing in a few places and quite a lot in the bathroom. The hotel is great for any adults looking to relax and enjoy some local culture however it is not a very good place for small children (0-6) because most of the devices are catered towards adults, there are no child play centres or child aimed activities. The staff are all incredible, friendly and welcoming and eager to help, the only negative is that the manager has told all of them to ask every guest every time they see them- How is your room? How is your stay? What are your plans for the day?- now this is fine once or twice, however every one, from the staff at check in to the chefs and waiters ask these exact same questions every single time they see you, it can happen 7 times in just one day.

This Hotel Rocks
My wife and I had the privilege to stay at this resort for the week of Feb-13th, it's hard to rate this hotel on a scale ending at 5, this hotel was a 10+ for us- off the scale awesome !!!!. From every aspect this hotel far exceeded our expectations, from prior to our trip when I sent email coordinating our pick-up, dinners, spa, tours etc.... to our check in, room service, room cleaning, Valentines Dinner on our balcony, daily breakfast, daily dinner's, mini bar prices, the SPA !!, the group pool, our private pool, coordinating tours. The General Manager and the Owner's were some of the most sincere people we have meet when staying at a hotel ever. We had a couples spa which was out of this world. The location is in a Jungle, which we found exactly what we were looking for, the rooms were clean and no major bug or insect issues. We stayed in one of the 2 pool villas, very roomy, awesome bathroom and pool grounds perfectly clean. Great views of rice fields and the jungle. A temple to visit 100m away and a small village within walking distance. As I told the staff, only one issue, I am a M&M fan and no M&M's in the mini bar :-) We found all the costs to be reasonable or less expensive then other areas and hotels. Just by far a vacation which this hotel greatly exceeded our expectations !!!! Thanks to all the staff, Management, Owners ... you guys rock and are the very best !!!!

My friend Ashley and I enjoyed a lovely 6 days staying at the Puri Gangga in Bali last week. We absolutely loved the place! The staff became like family by the end of it, they were so friendly and welcoming. We arrived a day late (due to flight cancellation) and they gave us a free hour massage! We really didn't expect anything but am grateful for it! Would definitely go back there. The only downfall to this hotel would be the time it takes to get out there. Its quite far from ubud centre and also quite far from the airport. But with the free hotel shuttle this didn't prove to be much of a problem!

BEST STAY EVER!
If I could give a higher rating than 5 I definitely would. Best stay we have had in Bali so far, the staff were extremely welcoming and everyone made us feel like we were at home. We have met some great new friends and would highly recommend anyone to stay there as you will get a real feel for the culture and and kindness of the people at Puri Gangga. Matur Suksma to all the staff and friends of ours, we will miss you all! :)

Pleasant stay and hotel staff is great
We had stayed at Puri Gangga for four nights during November of 2016. At first, we were little disappointed with our room as the view wasn't as good as we had expected (it was a corner room at level 1). Since the hotel was full, we could not change rooms. However, the experience quickly turned sweet due to the nice hospitality of the hotel staff. They were very polite and caring. I enjoyed the free welcome drink (Green apple + celery) very much and they were happy to provide that whenever I had wanted. To my surprise, they had not charged it for most of the times and I really liked this gesture. They also helped me to plan a surprise birthday cake for my wife. The shuttle service to the town is quite useful and even otherwise, the hotel is well prepared to arrange transportation to the town at very reasonable prices. The reception staff named 'Nara' was extremely cordial in arranging transportation for us whenever required. In addition, the airport pickup service charges for this hotel are very reasonable when compared to what the taxis will charge you at the airport. I regretted to not have booked one.

Very nice resort to spend a few days
Puri Gangga is a very nice resort with an extremely kind staff. The rooms and bathroom are big and very clean, the garden is beautiful and the pool is amazing. It has a all the facilities you could wish for if you want to spend a few days just relaxing (SPA, pool, restaurant, cooking classes, dancing classes, movies, yoga every morning...etc). The restaurant and the pool have amazing views, the breakfast is included and is delicious. However, the SPA is expensive compared to other places on the island. If you don't want to relax and you are there just to explore the island, it is ok as well, since is located near Ubud, the rice terraces in Tegallalang, lake Batur and not far from Pura Besakih. You can spend the day exploring the island and then go to the hotel just to relax. I really recommend it!

Excellent staff...I'm coming back to you because of you :)..everything about our stay there was awesome. I celebrated my 50th Birthday there and was very grateful for the extras (7am wake up call from around 8 staff with cake, balloons, flowers, gifts) My daughter and I will never forget your humility, servant hearts and professionalism. The resort is always clean, food was great...Suksma!!!!

Pleasant retreat from the hustle of Bali
Thoroughly enjoyable retreat to a more remote location in Sebatu, half an hour north of Ubud. Delightful friendly and caring staff that take service personally. Attention to detail in the restaurant Kailasha, with varied menu items both western and local. Nice location that is relatively quiet and secluded. Nice pool area and the fact that there arenonly 20 units lends to the personal touch thatbthe resort and staff provide. Minor issues that hardly impact my opinion of this facility and happily recommend the resort to anyone wanting a more elaxing stay and location.

Slice of paradise
I would highly recommend Puri Gangga Resort for anyone wanting a relaxing place to stay with a stunning outlook, great food, comfortable rooms and attentive staff. The pool area, views and the grounds are beautiful! The complimentary breakfasts were delicious, and the staff were so lovely and caring. They really went out of their way to make sure we had a great experience. The location is perfect if you want to escape from the intensity of Ubud. Located in a rural village 30mins out of the central hub, you get to see the "real" Bali by hiring bikes or scooters to explore the neighbourhood. Added bonus was one of the most stunning temples literally 2mins walk down the road and the Tegalalang Rice Fields 10mins drive away (we got the shuttle driver to drop us there on one of his trips into town and pick us up on the next round). We enjoyed every moment of our stay here and hope to come back in the future. It really was a dream!
