In the middle of Denpasar but not walking distance for tourist attractions. Room is very good for the price. Relatively no guess when I stayed on a weekday.

"Our own private villa right near the Monkey Forest"
We really enjoyed our stay at Royal Kamuela, all the staff were amazing and friendly and the villa was even better than described. We had some visits from Monkeys in the morning being so close to the Forest and were in the best position to experience all the other restaurants and markets of Ubud. We think this was the best holiday experience we have had and couldnt recommend it enough!

"Great Holiday"
We had a great experience at Maya. The location is perfect, we were surrounded by scenic views. Massive resort with plenty to do within. We really enjoyed the Spa. So relaxing and food was amazing. Different restaurants within the resort depending on what we feel like having. Buffet dinner with cultural dance/entertainment is such a nice experience. Really polite and helpful staff made our stay extra special. this was the dream holiday we always wanted. We'll be going back. (they also have a free shuttle bus to Ubud centre every hour)

"best hotel ever"
This is the best hotel ever. It is away from the hustle and bustle of Ubud and the hotel itself is very small and friendly. I loved every minute here. The staff are the best. It is so beautiful that even I could take nice pix. We stayed in the "mansion" (personal preference) and it was a great room. Four story building with two rooms on each floor with a corridor between them. No common walls. The rooms are large and have large sliding glass doors on two walls. Large lanais where you can have tea. Thought it would be quiet but the room upstairs is a bit noisy. Yes, the roosters will crow in the morning but it's actually not that bad. The restaurant is good but stick with the Indonesian food. The hamburgers are iffy. Tea time is an absolute pleasure. Loved it. The transport was very generous and would pick you up anywhere anytime. The traffic can be bad in Ubud though. I am so glad I chose not to stay close to town. We hardly ever left the hotel. Very relaxing. The amenities are generous with bottles of shampoo etc. not just little packets. The staff was amazing and very accommodating. Beware the short trekking event on Sat. It is not for the fainthearted. Not once did the guide slow down, lend a hand, or worry about the tourists stumbling along behind him. Yes, I did step into the muddy rice field.

"Great rooms with a true Balinese feel."
This place is wonderful and I've been to Bali over 30 times. Staff are great, the buggy rides to lobby and room are fun. The Valley views are awesome and our own pool was incredible. The beds were comfortable, too! You can easily travel around the island from this central location. A great experience for the Bali traveller.

Free airport shuttle was convenient! Need to book in advance by e-mail. The correspondence was always good. Free welcome massage (15 min for everyone), free afternoon tea, free cocktail, a nice breakfast selection, Wednesday culture night... many things were very well considerate.
