A beautifully updated, charming 4 BR cedar shake beach home in the Summers Crescent neighborhood of Cape Fear Station near East Beach. Sleeps up to 6 adults, 2 children (2 King beds, 1 Queen bed, Twin bunk). One 6 seater golf cart. Less than 2 minutes by golf cart to the favored East beach. Renovated in early 2022 - new furniture, new paint, new hardwood floors in all bedrooms, and quartz countertops throughout. Bright and airy reverse floor plan with vaulted ceilings over a spacious kitchen, sunny eating area, and living room. Two king bedrooms and two full bathrooms, as well as a kids’ bunk room with twin bunkbed, are located in the main house. The lower level king bedroom adjoins the bunk room through a sliding barn door, perfect for families with children. It has an en suite full bath with walk-in shower. The upper level king bedroom is adjacent to a full bath with shower over tub. Off the large side deck is a boardwalk to a quaint, private guest cottage with queen bed, full bathroom, TV and mini-fridge/Keurig. There is a full-sized laundry room in the main house. You can enjoy sitting out on the private side or front deck, listening to the sounds of the ocean. There is a charcoal grill on the deck for evening cookouts. One 6-seater golf cart, surfboard and stand up paddle board are available for your use. There are a few bicycles that are in "as is" condition. Guests are welcome to use the bicycles we have, or can choose to rent their own on the island from one of the rental shops. Around the back of the home is a spacious outdoor shower. Beach towels and chairs are provided. Our home is just a 2 minute walk to the Turtle Conservancy, Mike’s Bites and the community park. Ocean-front Shoals Club guest memberships are available for purchase. Shoals Club pools, restaurants, fitness center, and beach accesses are just a 1 minute golf cart ride away! Fish N’ Chips is a no-pets and no-smoking home. We also own “Not On Call”, a quaint, two BR cottage located a few homes down on the same street from “Fish N’ Chips” - perfect if you are looking for a nearby home for friends or family. BHI also offers historical tours, kayak rentals, bicycle rentals, guided fishing trips, turtle conservancy, nature trails, shopping, crabbing, etc. So much to enjoy, whether visiting in the midst of summer or in the off-season. PLEASE NOTE- Hurricane Policy: If the local Government orders a mandatory evacuation for Bald Head Island AND you don’t stay at our home, you will receive a full refund for the nights the evacuation order is in place. This does not pertain to voluntary evacuations, a situation where travel insurance is certainly beneficial. If our home becomes uninhabitable for any reason (fire, wind, flood), and we need to cancel, you will receive a full refund for unused days of your stay. It was a great layout for our group the teens were able to spend time on their own in the crofter and the suite downstairs and venture upstairs for shared family meals, game night and dessert. The owners were very responsive when we had any questions and really went above and beyond to make sure we had enough beach towels and to help us with the house bikes. No complaints at all about the home! I ONLY took off one star for location because we typically stay on the beach and this home is located in the woods a bit so it's more of a tree house type feel. Just a matter of personal preference. But the decor is beachy and you're literally a two minute ride from the east AND the south beaches. One minute ride to Mike's Bites was handy too! Nice little selection of games and puzzles for the kids/teens and we made some great memories and got some nice pictures with the stand up paddle board. Nice beach chairs too. It's very near the Shoals Club and a short, easy drive to the Maritime shops. The owner was very nice and responsive when I had to communicate issues/questions. On the down side, perhaps because we were there at the end of the season, we just had several maintenance issues (i.e. bikes and electrical breakers), a few missing items (i.e. beach towels and laundry detergent) that contributed to my three star rating. I was also very disappointed in the kitchen. For a house that can accommodate 6 adults, it was poorly equipped (and poorly lit) so if you're planning to do your own cooking - you probably want to pack bigger pots and pans as well as a sharp knife or two. When we arrived the only key in the lock box was for the golf cart. Luckily, we found a house key in the unlocked garage and were able to get in. Seems to me that the maintenance/cleaning staff should have checked things like this. As I said in the beginning, it's a very nice little cottage and if it wasn't for a bunch of easily addressed "attention to detail" & maintenance issues, this would have been a much more positive review. ##### Michael B. Fish & Chips was perfect for our trip with family. The teen in our group loved staying in the crofter, and the twin bunk room off of the downstairs bedroom was perfect for a toddler. The kitchen was well stocked with supplies and everything in the home was well-maintained. Plenty of beach towels for our family of 6 the beach chairs, toys, golf cart, and surfboard were in excellent condition. The property manager was super responsive and friendly - very easy to work. We love this location on the island. The house itself was excellent: very clean, comfortable bed and high quality sheets. Chrissie was very responsive. Modern and clean with every convenience. It was our first time staying at that end of the island and we loved how close it was to shopping and restaurants. We loved our stay here and the owner is fantastic and super communicative. The golf cart is fast (not always common with rentals) and there was plenty of kitchen goods to cook most meals here. Very close to East Beach accesses and tucked away in nature. I would suggest bringing a fan for the crofter as the unit stays fairly warm. We had a great stay! ##### Alex J. My family and I spent a few days at this home and I would highly recommend it! The home was very clean, beautifully decorated and well organized. It was well stocked with anything you may need including beach towels and lots of great beach accessories. Only a short distance to the beautiful South Beach access by golf cart or bike. The home was clean, updated and extremely well organized. We felt like we were in a treehouse eating meals upstairs and enjoyed the outdoor area and grill for appetizers.
