(4BR,4.5BA,SL12,2K/1Q/2 Bunks With Twin Over Doubles, 2 Golf Carts, SaturdayTurn in Peak Season, Pet Friendly with Approval, CHECK OUT9:30AM/ CHECK IN 3:30PM) Nestled amongst the oaks and palms of the maritime forest, this charming four-bedroom, 4.5 bath Bald Head retreat happily surprises with spacious, treetop living. A welcoming covered front porch leads to an open foyer at the heart of this reverse floor plan home. Follow the warm hardwoods to one of three bedrooms on the first floor, a comfortable King suite that includes its own full bath with tub. A sizable King owners' suite in the opposite corner pampers with an ensuite that boasts a dual vanity and an extra-large shower. Between them is a bunkroom perfect for families, with two Twin-over-Full bunkbeds and access to a full bath with shower just across the hall. The back screened porch, where sitting areas and a ping pong table invite hours of enjoyment, is accessible from each of the bedrooms. The airy, light-filled upper level provides sun-dappled wooded views in every direction, making you feel like you're in your own oversized treehouse. With vaulted ceilings and an open floor plan, the large living space is anchored by a decorative fireplace and provides lots of cozy seating and a generous selection of games and books. The roomy, window-sided corner dining area seats eight with space for more at the nearby breakfast bar. Savor a meal here or outside in the serene hexagonal-screened dining porch overlooking the golf course's fourth tee. Work on your tan on the sun deck that flanks the porch on one side or cook your morning catch on the gas grill on the deck on the other. Back inside, the attractive, well-stocked chef's kitchen features handsome maple cabinets, sleek black granite counters, and stainless appliances, including a standalone wine refrigerator. Down a stepped hall, a sunny Queen suite with its own ensuite delights with a private balcony, just the spot to start each day with a cup of coffee. Conveniently located, just minutes to the beach, marina, shops and restaurants, with two golf carts for use (a 6- and 4-passenger) and WWP's 24/7 Property Manager Assistance Line-which means you can reach needed help even after hours or on weekends, a stay at Shorebird will make your beach vacation a soaring success! There is a one pet policy at this home and pets cannot be more than 50 pounds. If bringing along a furry companion, the fee is $300. Views of surrounding foliage from the porch was so beautiful and relaxing each morning.All of the rooms were very nice and well appointed with everything you need. The kitchen, as well, was appropriately curated with essentials. The coffee maker was a little old, but worked fine.2 golf carts was very convenient for our group. The 6-seater was the nicest cart I've had in many years coming to Bald Head. Bike's were nice to have access to as well.The only real negative I have to say was wrt the grill on the deck. The burners were dilapidated (rusting etc) and gas didn't flow properly. You only have a small area near the front of the grate for grilling. Its location near the gold course but under a canopy within BHI's maritime forest felt secluded and very relaxing. As a family, we especially enjoyed the great room as a gathering space. Finally, having a bedroom on the main/upper level was especially helpful for us as it limited the need to climb stairs for the senior in our party. We would absolutely stay again. ##### G V.
