Communication with the host was difficult. She was unresponsive to my messages, and VRBO had to step in before she replied just days before check-in. Check in was easy and convenient. Upon arrival, we were greeted kindly by the host and dogs, but there were many issues once we entered the cabin. The interior was covered in mouse droppings. On countertops, window sills, the floor, behind the headboard, even near the guest book. I understand it is a cabin in the woods, but there was clearly an infestation. A clear health and safety issue. Additionally, there were numerous bugs and visible gaps and holes to the outside, including a window that wouldn’t fully close. We decided it was unsafe to stay and left. I informed the host, who was apologetic and offered a full refund and a future stay. She admitted to knowing about the holes and expressed embarrassment. However, she never followed through with the refund and has since stopped responding to messages. It's now been over a week with no communication or resolution.
