It's a nice open, more classic resort. When we first arrived they only had 2 double rooms and the guest services manager was extremely helpful the next day with finding a room that was better suited for us and was very accommodating. It was a nice walk on the beach to Bucerias for the market and some excellent churros. Uber was extremely easy to get everywhere as well. There is a great super market right down the street too where we were able to buy things we needed. The beach being right there was amazing, though people were often saving chairs around the pools and beach with towels when they were not there. On our last few days there did seem to be a bunch of little flies that were coming out of a drain on the floor in our bathroom that was covered with a toilet brush-not sure if they were there and the cleaning staff bumped it and let them out but that wasn't ideal.

Some of the stuff wasn’t too friendly, guest services were not very helpful or accommodating. The food was ok pretty much the same everyday. The process for restaurant reservations was a joke!

The food was terrible the only meal we actually really found edible was breakfast. The bed was so incredibly hard neither of us got much sleep. The shower head was so clogged there was barely any water pressure from it and I could barely rinse the conditioner from my hair. The iguanas were pretty neat but on more than one occasion they pooped in the pool and it had to closed for three hours after each time to be cleaned The staff and location were great.

Good was less than adequate and the restaurant reservations were a joke. I only got in to the Thai place in e and that was horrible. WiFi was very weak. Room was not what was paid for, the second bed was a roll in. No elevators. It really was one of the worst resorts I’ve been to

Lots to do. Very family friendly. Great pools and beach. Rooms and linens very poor quality and dated. Food was not good. The only spice used was salt and way too much of it. Few healthy options. Noise from the stage at night was terrible. Don't stay in Block 3 if you can avoid it. Smokers on one side and hirrible music andvyelling on the other.

Nice family oriented property on water front. The only problem we had was the room we stayed in had no hot water. We had to to call almost every day to get it fixed. Obviously it's something wrong with the plumbing.

Enjoyed, grounds and pools were great, rooms were fine, dated but were clean. Food was ok def not great but was not expecting much different. Restaurants were def not worth the hazzle of getting a reservation. Overall enjoyed, but you get what you pay for.

Food was not good and no variety. Not one taco bar, which is sad. Nothing for kids to do. Very limited entertainment . Not enough chairs to lounge at pools. Beach was dirty and kept stepping on sharp objects, pools were dirty. No servers poolside, always had to get out and walk to bar. Worst experience of any hotels in the 10 years coming to PV. Will never stay here again.

We've been to the Royal Decameron numerous times. Service overall has gone downhill, although especially at the lobby. If you need anything done with your room, just ask for a manager. Don't waste your time with the regular staff. Or talk to Freddie, one of the bell boys. He helped us out every time, told us who to talk to if we needed something, answered all our questions, etc. Also bring cash with you. They no longer exchange bills either. Lobby staff told to ask the serving staff to convert CAD to pesos, which is ridiculous. Not their job. There's also a Walmart-type store about a 10-15 minute walk up the entry road if you need to buy anything. The facility itself is great though, which is why we keep going back. Lots of pools, bars, restaurants, activities to do. The beach is massive and beautiful. And if beach volleyball is your thing, this is the place. The entertainment/activities crews--orange shirts--are usually top notch. Lots of fun and funny games for guests and they were great with our kids. I got to know a few quite well--Gucxi, Danny, Himena and Jocelyn. Super fun, welcoming and helpful, and do a great job organizing games for the guests. Maintenance crews, room cleaners, and bar staff are excellent. We had an obnoxious waiter at the buffet first night. The clown actually asked for a tip even though we had to get our own cutlery, etc. Servers are hit and miss nowadays, but we know the good ones by sight, so all good. But no service, no tip

We got Block 1 second floor ocean View which is exactly what we paid for so it was good to get that, we asked for a fridge for my wife's medicine and they provided that and no cost that was wonderful, the only thing I would say is the place is just getting a little dated, the food was good, the staff was wonderful and the drinks were fine my family and I we recommend the Royal Decameron to anyone

I loved the food and the staff was very friendly. I enjoyed the shows they offerred at night. What I didnt like was having to call for an iron or getting up early to make a reservation at one of the restaurants. They did have 2 that are buffet so that helped out on our first day there. Also the room was outdated. No fridge, no iron, ironing board, no ice maker in the hallway. No elevator which I knew but of course I was given the very top floor. Overall we did have a good time and would recommend to others. It was our 1st time here and I would go back and get an ocean view room in the future.

Good resort for what you pay for. Staff were friendly and the buildings are cute and colourful. It was nice to have an adult-only pool. It was next to impossible to get a dinner reservation at the a-la-carte restaurants. There were not any bars open until 10am. The show was decent, but night-life at the resort was non-existent. Pools and restaurants were often closed for no reason, including beach chairs.

Great property for a reasonable priced vacation. The food was alright, although the a la carte options were not any better than the standard buffet IMO. The rom was basic but fine for sleeping! Requested a cot and received it quickly as the beds are small, doubles at best and I had two older teens with me. Grounds and pools were excellent but my 17 yr old was told to leave the adult only pool area after 4 hours there with her family. Didn’t appreciate that as the pool outside our building 5 was ‘adults only’. My only complaint. I would definitely come back based on the experience there.

Food was terrible….ran out of toilet paper, called receptionist. Never got toilet paper. If you smoke… don’t go! Folding chair with an umbrella. Stay elsewhere!

Simple charming rustic room yet super clean. Food although not gourmet but it’s good. Menu rotates daily. Alcohol for the Drink menu was basic but plenty to choose from. Shows were funny and good fun for 1hr. All the staff are friendly & happy to be there. Guest services are Very helpful if you need any questions , adjustments on you fine dinning reservation. Over all the hotel is not fancy but the staff & beach makes up for all the short comings.

The only complaint about this resort is the staff allowing people to reserve lounge chairs for hours without a body on them. We were unable to find chairs together around any of the pools. This is even though they have signs up saying this was not allowed…nothing was done to stop it. Very disappointing
