Adorable cottage right on the water! This is not a hotel. this is a cottage on someone’s property and the owner was sooo nice! We only stayed one night but wish we could have stayed longer. It was very clean and the Wifi was good enough to watch Netflix on our laptop. the cottage has everything you need, microwave, plates, cups, even a coffee maker. Would definitely stay here again!

Miliena,
Thank you very much, we are happy you enjoyed your stay
The cottage is spectacular! Great hospitality, has a cozy set-up, and a rustic look. The beautiful sunrise and the sound of the waves gently crashing against the surface is utmostly peaceful and calming! Highly recommended!!

Thank you for staying with us glad you enjoyed your stay
It was lovely to listen to the waves at night and to swim in the salt water. As cereal eaters we were disappointed to find one bowl for cereal; on the other hand there was everything else you would need for a cottage stay.

Bill and Patty are great hosts and the location couldn’t be any better.
The boathouse cottage is rustic, cosy and comfortable and we would definitely recommend.
The boat house was wonderful and just what we expected. Billy and Pat are wonderful and give you complete privacy. A little slice of heaven with beautiful views. Baddeck is beautiful and the people are awesome. Hated to leave!!

Wind noise kept us up most of the night. Knocking against the wall. Not sure if it was loose siding or a tree. Highway noise is also a factor
Lovely and comfortable spot right on the lake. Beautiful scenery with warm vibes. An excellent place to stay!

Stunning location
Stunning location literally right on the lake, the views are breathtaking. Accommodation is well equipped and we used the bbq to make the most of the views. Our children swam in the lake the following morning. Useful to know that you need to check in at the restaurant down the road (which we weren’t told during the booking process) but the owner was lovely about it and let us do it the following day. Wish we could of stayed longer.
Was not able to even check in because the property owner did not abide by the check in process listed on the ad and did not answer any calls or emails. Had to get a hotel 45 mins away.
A unique cottage with rustic charme and great location on the water with a dock for swimming and hanging out. very nice hosts and beautiful surroundings!
Right on the lake... 10 feet away Water lapping on the shore.. Easy check in thru owners’ cafe in town. Friendly host. I bedroom & a living room with 4 bunks that worked well for our party of 3
Nice boat house on water. Nothing fancy but has the basics and all you need. The only issue we had was trying to find the place. The address doesn’t come up on google maps, so we finally went to the visitor center to find out if it even existed (We never received a confirmation so we were concerned it may have been a scam. The phone number on the website is an international number answered by a recording of an Asian woman). Very frustrating. Fortunately the woman at the visitor center made several phones calls for us and finally found out we had to go to Yellow Chello Pizza to check in. From there we were given directions to the house. It would be nice to receive this information beforehand.
beautiful spot! Everything we needed for a comfortable stay

Lakefront cottage with lovely view
Perfect home base for our exploration of the Cabot Trail. Small but complete kitchen for simple meals. We did not spend much time in the cottage except for sleeping and breakfasts. Would be too small for a family with young kids on a rainy day.
We thoroughly enjoyed our one-night stay at this cottage. Loved sitting outside on the deck with a coffee, relaxing and looking at the moon-dappled water. Fairly restful sleep. Great location. We tried to swim the next morning, but the water was freezing. Grabbed a coffee and sat on the deck instead. We would loved to have stayed longer to really enjoy the cottage experience. Thanks!
Great location; the bed is very hard which some people like -- I'm not one of those people. The shower is quite cramped and the shower knob falls off so it's tricky to adjust the temperature. Otherwise, the deck and the views of Baddeck Bay are excellent! Parking was easy. I wish that they'd had a boat for us to use (or if they had one, I wish they'd offered to let us use it). You can swim right off the dock (I didn't because of the jellyfish but if you don't mind their company, it's a great feature). They also accommodated our dog, so that made us really happy :) The little kitchenette has pretty much everything you need.
We enjoyed our visit at the rustic little boathouse. Our sons enjoyed swimming off the dock and we even grilled out on the gas grill. The owners are friendly and very accommodating. We would definitely recommend staying here... this was our sons favorite place to stay on our Maritime adventure!!
The Boat House is a refreshing change from your standard hotel/motel accommodation. A rustic little cottage on the shores of the Bras d'Or Lakes, you'll have everything you need to enjoy your own overnight or multi-night stay. A well equipped kitchenette, barbeque, outdoor furniture and even a swim in the ocean. We slept soundly with the rhythm of the waves audible through the open window of our cozy bedroom. There are 4 bunks available for kids or companion travelers. The gracious hosts encourage you to make the cottage your own while you stay. The busy little town of Baddeck is just a couple minutes drive away.
Cabin was all ready for our stay including wifi for the kids. You do have to check in at the owner Bill's restaurant The Yellow Cello in town. Pleasant stay.
Beautiful location with an amazing view outside and clean room. Loved the look and feel of the wood boat house. There is a lot of space inside and the kitchenette is useful. The only thing I didn't like was that the mattress was quite hard and there were not curtains on three of the bedroom windows.

Would stay again if in the area.
Spent 2 nights in this cute little cottage next to a lake. Stayed as a base for exploring the Cabot trail and Cape Breton National park. A change from all the hotels we stayed in. Close to town of Baddeck. Cottage roomy. The only complaint is the mattress a bit hard. Owners live on the same property in a house but only saw them on checkin.
The only hard part of staying here was finding the location where we were to register for the Boat House. The address given led us to the Boat House but when we called to get the key to get in they kept saying."You need to come here." It took them awhile to realize we didn't know where "here" was. It would have been easier if they had given the "here" address first and the House address second.
Owner's house within 25 ft. of cabin. Refrigerator and coffee pot had not been cleaned from previous renters. Parking was a problem especially when owners had visitors. We would not recommend this cabin.
I reserved the Boat House , which was on the water and had a kitchenette, through Expedia and received a confirmation email. could not find the address with my GPS and called and was sent to the Yellow Cello Restaurant. When I got there I was told the Boat House was booked and I was booked in the small hotel above the restaurant which was very small and had no air conditioning and the days were in the high 80s. I was very disappointed with Expedia and called and vocied my complaint and said they would reply and have not received and response to date.
I loved everything about my stay. The location. The rustic cottage. The host and hostess were friendly and very accommodating. I will definitely be staying there again. Baddeck gave me ideas of retirement and where I want to live.
John and Patti welcomed us to the unique little boat house cottage with warmth and graciousness. The breezes off the Bras D'Or wafted through the open windows and the lapping waves lulled us to sleep at night. Wonderfully situated on the shoreline of Baddeck, close to all Baddeck attractions and the Cabot Trail. Boat House Cottage is small but everything is designed so you can function well as a couple or as a family - a lot like being in your own customed designed boat. We loved hearing the story of its creation from the owners! Can't wait for a return visit.

Loved the location, loved the coziness, however the beds were very uncomfortable. Also there is a kitchenette but there was only a microwave. No stove top at all which makes any kind of cooking difficult. Still loved the authentic feel of staying at a lake house. Adorable.
