While the hotel itself was lovely, the food delicious and the staff helpful and friendly the hotel does not have air conditioning. We unfortunately stayed there one of the hottest days of the year and slept poorly due to the heat, even with all the windows open.

I stayed at this hotel because it was close to the medical clinic that I was going to everyday for a week. The staff was friendly and my room was quiet and comfortable.

Relaxing Stay
The Algau Resort has clean modern rooms with good gym facilities and a pool. The restaurant serves good German food and the service was great. It also has plenty of parking and there are walking trails in the nearby woods. This is the ideal place for a quiet relaxing stay.

+ overall clean + quiet + big room - few space at the entrance with bath/entrance/shelf doors fighting with each other - dark rooms (just like most hotel rooms, seems to be a standard nowadays) not light enough to work with the documents in any place of the room ? did not find temperature regulator on the 1st day, default setting was pretty cold. From day 2 onward no complaints about that ++ size of shower cubicle + light toilets - shower cubicle has no door, some water always goes out - cold toilets ++ sauna with pool and wirlpool - sauna announced until 22, but at 21:15 only a bit warm ? the "light sauna" was under maintenance - charged extra 5 EUR / night for Breakfast - charged extra 5 EUR / night for garage - reception people too busy: forgot to call me back, forgot to reserve me requested treatment - asked an iron in my room, was said no problem, please come over to pick it up... hmm ok this is 1st time in Helios as I need to dress on and come down to pick up an iron myself (desk is not available). As I came there I found 4(!) personal people, 2 getting bored at the counter, another 2 watching sports on TV. + breakfast is good, free buffet with a little bit of everything including cheeses, salami, sausages, eggs in different form, cereals, baked stuff. A bit slow coffee machine causes a small queue at it, but is not disturbing +/- salad for EUR 19 was ok. Tasty, big, but nothing special. + good selection of wines

Algau Resort
The HELIOS Algau Resort has lovely modern rooms with good facilities such as a gym, sauna and pool. There are lots of walking and hiking trails through the woods and the small town centre is just a few minutes walk, where there are some nice bars and restaurants. The hotel restaurant serves good quality traditional German food and has a good choice for breakfast.

Great Hotel Amenities with walking access to town
When they say resort, it definitely delivered on that promise. The hotel is grand from the moment you see it while traveling down the long driveway. This continues into their large lobby and thoughtful decor. The hotel offers a great restaurant, bar, conference rooms, walking paths, fountain/outside sitting areas, and a magnificent spa. Be sure to spend some time in their offering of a pool, hot tub, steam room, ice bath, tanning beds, or the enormous sauna. The rooms were modern, well appointed, and clean. Check-in/out was easy and hassle-free. We took the option to park in the garage in the basement of the hotel. I wish we could have stayed here longer.

Hotel in a Hospital
Lovely hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. Only real problem is it is situated in the middle of a hospital / medical facility which is a little strange. This put us off going for a walk into the lovely town near the hotel as when we got to the hotel in the afternoon there where some interesting individuals stood outside some of the medical facilities. Also the day we were there the bar was closed so we had to order drinks from reception and they would bring them to where ever you wanted them, again a little strange.

Dear Hotels.com we choose this hotel because we need a swimming pool for exercise and the five days we stay the swimming pool is under repair. Can we have a discount on this booking. I have written Hotel Allgau many times to make sure they have the swimming pool open, and they answered the swimming pool is opened.

the receptionlist does not know any restuarant to recommend because he is a vegetarian. This is a rural area hotel so do not expect much from this hotel. Wifi is very slow. Swimming pool is good and steam bath is good

We need to be in Bad Gronenbach, and we choose this hotel becasue they have a swimming pool. Swimming pool is good and clean with steam bath and sauna. Bad Gronenbach is a small town and not much choice for food. It is a quiet town. Hotel service is minimum, room is spacious but room not clean kind of run down, rooms need a facelift

Hidden gem - excellent resort
Friendly welcome, spacious rooms, great facilities (spa and sauna gym) - which stay open until 11. Underground parking. Very pleased with the hotel overall and would recommend. One negative - no air-con.

Wished we could have stayed longer...
We booked this hotel as a stopover on our was to Stuttgart. What a terrific bar, the drinks were perfect, and the warm friendliness of Matiss (?sp) our bartender made for a relaxing evening. Beautiful scenery, and excellent dinner and breakfast. Comfortable bed!!

A great place to relax & don't miss the breakfast
This hotel was a pleasant surprise. My wife and I spent only one night, but we're thinking about returning just to relax there for a weekend. The hotel is really nice and offers very nice spa facilities. It was a very, very nice property. It is well maintained and it was very comfortable. The restaurant is very good and the breakfast buffet was terrific.

excellent value and lovely grounds.
We chanced upon this place driving home from Italy and it proved to be lucky find. The room was clean and the beds wonderfully comfortable. The staff were pleasant and helpful and the breakfast the following morning was wonderful and a great start to another day's driving.

Vi bodde på dette hotellet under et to-ukers opphold på grunn av medisinsk behandling hos tysk lege. Hotellet ligger i et rolig området med vakker natur, men selve hotellet er ikke verdt pengene. Det er ikke luksuriøst på noen som helst måte, men veldig dyrt. Du får hverken kaffemaskin eller vannkoker på rommet, og det ble ganske slitsomt på sikt da vi var på rommet store deler av dagen. Jeg spurte om litt kaffe i resepsjonen, og det ble det en dyr pris å betale for, enda de hadde en kaffemaskin stående, som ikke var lov å røre. Det var ingen lunsjservering noen av dagene, middagsmenyen var veldig tynn og kun på tysk. Frokosten er også veldig dårlig, sammenlignet med prisen du betaler for oppholdet. Treningsrommet er stort, men mange av apparatene fungerte ikke, og heller ikke var det noe vann å fylle på flasken med under treningsøkten. Du må også betale for parkering. Vi hadde et rom med takluke som gjorde det veldig lyst på rommet om morgenene, og prøvde å forklare resepsjonisten at vi var avhengig av god søvn på grunn av helsen og søvnproblemer, men hun mente det ikke var noen andre rom å gi oss, enda hotellet nesten var helt tomt. Det er håpløst og langt fra et luksushotell. Velg heller Best Western Hotel i Ottobeuren, de har mye bedre service og servering. Det eneste positive med dette hotellet er sauna-området, men det blir ikke tatt godt vare på, og er ikke noe særlig rent. Håndklærne er overbrukte, skitne og ekle. Virkelig ikke verdt det!

Die Wellness Einrichtungen war alles vorhanden und gut erreichbar. Das Essen war gut,hätte von Portionen etwas mehr sein können. das Personal war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit.Das einzige was schade war das die Bar geschlossen war Da hätte man gesellig zusammen sitzen können und es hätte sicher die eine oder andere Unterhaltung mehr ergeben.
