OCEANFRONT Avon - Prepare yourself for a truly BLISSful vacation at this oceanfront home in southern Avon with not only beautiful ocean views but also a private pool. A path to the beach welcomes you along with a large swimming pool, Tiki bar, and a hot tub to enhance your relaxation. There are other outside activities such as horseshoe pits, basketball hoop and swings too. Nearby is a game room featuring an air hockey table, large TV, stereo, and a full-size refrigerator, perfect for beach drinks or poolside beverages. This house is move in ready unlike most beach homes because the BEDS ARE MADE (not just linens included as are most beach homes in Avon). There is a refreshing large private outside shower near the pool and hot tub area as well as a fish or bathing suit cleaning sink area for your convenience. The gas grill (with gas provided) nearby the entertainment area will add to your vacation fun. The covered carport and storage area for beach and fishing gear provide space for your valuable vacation gear. Inside the home, you will be delighted by the first level accommodations including a king master bedroom with access to the oceanfront deck and private full bath. Two more bedrooms (king, & queen) also have access to the oceanfront deck and use the hall full bath along with the fourth bedroom which has two sets of bunk beds. Both full baths are off bedroom hallway. All bedrooms provide TV/DVDs. The main level of the home features the great room with spectacular ocean views, comfortable new leather sofas and other seating, a cocktail bar and a large flat screen TV with surround sound speakers. There is a desk, office supplies and a comfortable desk chair for office work that may need done. In summer, the outside fire pit on the piazza is great place to gather or just a short walk the beach for a beach fire. For winter vacations, the great room's wood burning fireplace create warm memories to last forever. Blue water views can be seen through the large windows throughout the entire great room which is open to the large well equipped kitchen. Three sets of sliders lead to the large Oceanview deck with picnic table and chairs to enjoy ocean breezes and speakers from the stereo. Another deck offers a sound view, the perfect place to watch the famous Hatteras Island sunsets. There is also a convenient half bath on the great room level. The kitchen is well-appointed with granite countertops and plenty of counter space. Two ranges make preparing meals for the group easier, and two dishwashers provide quick cleanup. Always plenty of ice with the commercial ice machine and large French door refrigerator. The dining table is positioned nearby for dinner with a view. Wish there had been a way to connect top level outside with the other levels other than inside stairs, and there were some nails popping up in deck that were to be avoided- just told kids to wear shoes while outside. It is nestled in a quiet, quaint neighborhood off the main road. The view from the main floor of the house is breathtaking. The two stoves were a blessing as we cooked for Thanksgiving. The owners are very responsive via text. The hot tub was very clean. Its decor is certainly eclectic. The house is not luxury, it’s the epitome of old school OBX which is what we love. We encountered a few hiccups, like others mentioned, with some things needing repair. While most weren’t dealbreakers, the A/C being out during a stormy, hot week was tough, making the living space less usable. However, the host was fantastic, staying in frequent communication and making everything as smooth as possible. The location is stunning, the house was spotless, and the beds were incredibly comfortable—a must for me on vacation. The porch swing brought me so much joy, and the ocean views from almost every angle were worth every penny. The house could use a few updates, starting with the grill. It made cooking dinner a bit challenging, especially with the wind, and my husband had to take it apart and clean it to make it usable. The house is very spacious and comfortable, and more attractive than the pictures. The weather wasn't cooperating the first couple of days and so highway 12 was blocked the first couple of days, but the host Donika and VRBO were accommodating and helped us find alternate places to stay, and we were able to make it work and had a great time. The rooms are comfortable, the kitchen is wonderfully stocked (2 dishwashers and stoves, stand-alone ice maker, lots of pots and pans), and it’s so nice that the main floor is all communal space with beautiful windows all around to enjoy the view! It was clean and the host had great communication and was very accommodating. Excellent place for a family with kids but also great for a group of adults. Stayed for two weeks and it wasn’t long enough. Close to Hatteras lighthouse, ferry to Ocracoke, several restaurants, a fresh seafood market and a grocery store. The owners answered any questions we had quickly, even sending out a handy man for an electronics issue the same day we contacted them. The house itself was comfortable and had many extra little touches above other rentals like a commercial ice machine, 2 bar areas, a commercial smoothie/frozen drink machine, large refrigerator and 2 ovens and dishwashers to accommodate a large group. The living spaces were large and roomy with plenty of space to play games, watch a movie, and hang out together. There are several options for lounging outside together as a big group also. The pool was a must for us when looking to rent and it turned out to be a favorite spot to end the day outside. Some of the littles were afraid of the ocean but we spent most days on the beach playing in the sand. The path to the beach was well marked, coming back from the beach is a bit of a workout, over the first dune only. Two 70 adults were able to do it though. It was great having the living room and kitchen on the highest level as we could see the ocean and sunrises. Ample outdoor seating was appreciated. Having two refrigerators, stoves, and dishwashers helped out a great deal. The ice machine was broken when we were there, but the owner was getting a new one. The owner was responsive when we reached out. There are also two outside showers that we used a good deal. I think only one person, once used an indoor shower. There was a great place to store beach items. The place is a bit weathered, even so we would stay here again if we came back to the Outer Banks. ##### Sally C.
