All new LED lights installed. New outside lights for your safety. Deep cleaning throughout including carpets and sofa. New mattresses and box springs where needed. New blinds where needed. We spent7 weeks on the home insuring everything is throughly cleaned and nice for your vacation! Perfect family getaway within walking distance to all Avalon has to offer! Whether going to the beach, going to one of Avalon's great eateries, shopping, golfing, boating, snorkeling/diving, parasailing, or just sightseeing, this is the vacation home for you! A beautiful mediterranean style home, with a warm and modern beach style interior. The master bedroom has a Cal King bed, fireplace, and deck. The second bedroom upstairs has two twins and a full. There is a full bathroom in between the bedrooms. The washer and dryer are also on this level. The first floor bedroom is a queen with an additional full bath. There is also a queen sofa sleeper with a new Cool Comfort mattress as of 7/2021\. The living room, kitchen, and dining area are open and great for entertaining. There is another fireplace on this floor. The kitchen is fully stocked and the barbecue is located right out the sliding doors. We provide all linens and towels. Guests always seem to leave behind beach chairs but, bring your beach towels! The home has Directv with the new Genie system. There are televisions in each bedroom, as well as the living room. Please note, this home does have central heat but does not have A/C! My rates would reflect that! At this time, we do not have WIFI. Until it is mastered, I will not provide it. This is a great home and well cared for, owner run. No hill climbing and centrally located. We do not provide a golf cart for this home. When you rent this home, you deal with the owner directly if you have any concerns. A 4th generation Islander who cares about your stay! When we arrived the house was so dirty we cleaned and mopped before unpacking. There was blood on a comforter and door frame, empty beer cans in a dresser, and we didn’t take our shoes off the whole stay because of the filth. In addition to that, there weren’t any supplies- no WiFi, no beach towels, no hand soap, not enough coffee cups for the number of people, one wine glass, no opener, the dishes in the cabinet were dirty. I really can’t believe the state the house was in and that we actually paid for that. ##### Megan S. This home is in a great location just a few blocks from the main street in Avalon. The layout is good for a family on two levels. The owner responded quickly to questions and made the check in easy. She also let us check in early and stay late on check out day. Super nice!This experience would be much better if the kitchen, bathroom, and entertainment system had more attention. The kitchen had no sharp knives, not enough coffee mugs for 5 adults, only 2 wine glasses (we bought 4). The bathrooms ran on low toilet paper, had hand soap but no bar soap or shampoo for shower, and 4 towels for 5 people in house that sleeps 8\. There is no WIFI (this was cllearly stated in the description) but the DirectTV and TV option had two DVD's and virtually no channels worth watching. We spent most of our time exploring beautiful Catalina but on the rainy day we were looking for options inside. ##### Trish A. The second single bed in bunk room is a hidden trundle that is very dirty / unusable 4\. The upstairs shower faucet doesn’t work properly - hard to shut off 5\. No dish soap or amenities in bathrooms 6\. Beach chairs are outside & too dirty to use 7\. A bit of miscommunication upon check in (never received check in email) but this was resolved. It is very close to Von’s supermarket (few mins walk), excellent location due to close proximity to the beach area. We stayed 2 nights, we were only provided with 1 toilet paper & 1 kitchenpaper towel; I informed the property mgr, Amy, who said she will have a cleaner deliver some but didnt happen (so prepare to buy ur own); theres no body soap too. For the price we paid, I expected enough essentials. The toilet upstairs was clogged, good thing we fixed it with a plunger. Lastly, we were not aware that there was no wifi in the property. Home deferred maintenance The home is in a wonderful location. The floorplan is great but the home has a lot of deferred maintenance. 1\. Blinds in Poor Condition: The blinds in the front window were falling down and had missing slats. This issue not only compromised our privacy but also affected the overall aesthetics of the living room. In the evenings, it felt like we were in a fishbowl with minimal privacy. 2\. Lack of Proper Cleaning: There were noticeable issues with cleanliness throughout the home. The blinds in various rooms were dusty, as were the ceiling fans and portable fan. Dark spots on the ceiling above the dining table were also present. These issues were not only unsightly but also raised concerns about the property's overall maintenance. 3\. Maintenance Issues: Several maintenance-related problems were encountered during our stay. Lights in some areas were not functioning, and the primary bedroom's ceiling fan upstairs made concerning noises, as though it might fall down. The dishwasher was not working properly, which made meal preparation and cleanup more challenging. 4\. General Wear and Tear: The walls throughout the property were quite scuffed, and the glass shelves were dusty. These issues gave the impression that the property had not been well-maintained. 5\. Chair: My sister went to sit on dining chair and fell on ground being the seat cushion is not attached and she fell through. 6\. Fireplace: Fireplace screen is filthy and fire hazard. ##### Stacey V. It was close to Vons and to the town and since we had a one year old with us that was very convenient. It is a little bit noisy being on a main street however we dealt with that using our white noise. It was a bit hot inside since we were there in August but it was manageable.
