Kitchen island was a nice gathering space. Walking distance to South Congress, which has shopping and dining. Also a nice short walk to Lady Bird Trail, which has a path allowing you to walk along the Colorado River. The outdoor space could be something great with a few upgrades. The bed is unsleepable and feels like it has shifting plates of rock. The shower head was not operable. The upstairs shower was also not operable because entry into the shower was hindered by a non operstional shower door. The patio furniture does not match the pictures which others have mentioned. I like how the bedrooms were on different ends and levels of the house. We were only there for 3 nights so we didn't have much need for some of the extra living areas. I think it's a great space for families of all ages. We had two young children (3 & 7) so the back yard was not ideal since it has no lawn space. The patio furniture was a folding table and chairs. It would have been a much nicer with more comfortable outdoor furniture. Nevertheless we gathered outside and enjoyed the space. The home was very clean. The sleep number beds were great. They missed on stocking of dish washer detergent and garbage bags. We didn't cook except for breakfast but we had what we needed. We had no problems with the water but renters need to read about how it works to understand it. The location was great. It is within walking distance from the main strip with lots of restaurants and shops. The daily rate was reasonable but I thought the fees were high. Fees were more than the lodging portion. I was happy with our stay and with the right group would stay again (especially if the outdoor seating was improved). ##### Karen H. Feb 11, 2023 #### Great for a family and in-laws We took my parents and our children to visit our family in Austin and it was a great location close to Congress Street and downtown. About two or three blocks away heading south in the neighborhood you will find Stacy park. A small park with a playground. Great for family. The house was comfortable because it had a big living space with a huge island where most of us hung out. Beware that there is no Keurig coffee maker in the house just a glass pot coffee maker that requires coffee filters. Make sure you buy the right kind of coffee. There were plenty of pots and pans and utensils for cooking and eating. It has a gas stove and double oven/microwave combo. Good size refrigerator, toaster and dishwasher. We never had any hot water in the kitchen. We let it run for ever. The bathrooms took about two minutes of running the water to get hot water for the shower, but it was plentiful and worked well after it got started. The upstairs has one good sized bedroom and a bathroom and a living room area with a TV and reclining sofa, so it serves kind of has an apartment feel upstairs. The staircase is located to the right when you walk in the front door. On the main floor there is a bedroom to the right when you walk in the door and across the hallway is a very large bathroom with double sinks, and a glass steam shower. I liked that it was kind of a private section of the house because it has a sliding pocket door that makes the hallway with the bedroom and bathroom quieter. The laundry room is also located down that hallway The other bedroom is to the left of the front door near the kitchen and it is a smaller bedroom with a comfy bed and bathroom right next to it so it is convenient. Just next to that room behind the kitchen is another room that I think could be turned into another bedroom or it could be another living room. It has a built-in long desk in it, and big, beautiful, sliding glass doors and currently, it only has a small little chair in it so kind of a waste. If they added a full size bed, or a sofa, it would be very useful. And perhaps a blowup mattress could be used. We did see one upstairs and one of the closets. There is only one 3 cushion sofa in the living room and one tiny side chair so if you’re looking for a big comfy space to sit with everyone in the house, you may have to pull over the wooden barstools and dining room chairs. I could picture a sectional sofa or a second sofa in the living room to accommodate more than three or 4 people The house was clean and laid out well. It allowed our children to have a lot of space in the area to play. The back patio is very beautiful with hanging screen panels and terra-cotta tile floor but not very usable because it only has six plastic folding chairs and a plastic event table. I could picture some beautiful furniture out there like outdoor sofas and tables because we did want to hang out there and sit and talk. Would I rent it again? Absolutely yes. ##### misty s.
