Window seat strategies take into consideration time of day. Having a seat on the left-hand side of the plane allowed me some views that were illuminated by the late afternoon sun AND (if you can see it) a rising full moon. Had I sat on the other side of the aisle, I no doubt would have seen a glorious sunset.
