The location is amazing and the people were very friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend staying here and not in Flam. Cruise ships cannot come into the fjord that far, so at night it is very peaceful. We had a two bedroom - just a note that it is a bit of a walk from the main hotel area down the road, so if anyone has mobility issues they should be aware of that. The staff were really lovely and accommodating and offered us early check in as we arrived on the bus from Voss with all of the other tourists and I had a cranky 3 year old. The breakfast was excellent - lots of variety and fresh food. We enjoyed visiting the Viking Valley - which I don’t think is affiliated with the hotel but the restaurants are owned by the same people. It’s only 20 minutes from flam & is easily accessible by ferry or bus. There are several dining options on or near the property. The scenery is beautiful and the rooms are clean and comfortable. Also the breakfast bar is good and has everything. We stayed one night as we took a ferry from Bergen to Flåm in order to get to Oslo. We stayed in a room with a kitchen and if we had to do it over would've stayed a couple nights and done hiking in the area. The room was clean and there was plenty of space. The property had 2 restaurants and a third at the viking village was available. Breakfast had lots of options. We had a very short walk to see amazing fjord views, we also walked to nearby grocery store. Our only negative was the staff member in the back office smoking when we checked in. The whole place smelled of cigarette smoke that evening.
