The Space: Welcome to our one bedroom apartment located near Parnell Village! You can't find a better location than this, with numerous building facilities on site to keep you entertained, as well as the Spark Arena just up the road. Here at Zodiak Stays, we have all the amenities and facilities you will need to make your stay in Auckland as comfortable as possible: \- Free WiFi - Super fast and unlimited! \- Coffee, tea, sugar, salt & pepper \- Shampoo, body wash and conditioner \- Free swimming pool, spa, sauna, tennis courts and gym on-site \- Free parking! The bedroom is equipped with a Super King bed. The main room of the apartment has a fully functional kitchen with oven, microwave, and dish washer. The Neighborhood: Here are some suggestions for things to see and do on your visit to Auckland: Parnell - the village of Parnell boasts a great range of boutique cafes and galleries with the chocolate cafes being a favourite among locals. Every weekend Parnell hosts the La Cigale markets with plenty of great food options - not to be missed! The Viaduct - the best bars and restaurants in the city! The New Zealand Maritime Museum is here, as well as Silo Park where you can watch outdoor films for free in the evening. You can also catch ferries from here to the amazing islands in the Hauraki Gulf like Waiheke, Tiritiri Matangi, and Rangitoto, as well as go on a whale and dolphin safari. Federal Street - next to the Sky Tower (you can't miss it!) There are a lot of really nice bards and restaurants and cafes in this street, as well as the Sky City Casion and of course the Sky Tower. Dine at the top of tower at restaurant with the best views in Auckland, and jump off the Sky Walk to get down ;) Aotea Square - Auckland's cultural centre. Surrounding the square you'll find the Town Hall, Aotea Centre, Event cinemas, and two theatres (The Civic and the Q). The square itself is a nice place to people watch and sip some coffee. An ice-rink is the main attraction here during winter. Albert Park, Art Gallery and the Museum - Albert Park is a lovely place where you can chill and read, and the Auckland art gallery is next door on Wellesley Street. If you keep walking up Wellesley Street, past Auckland University, and across Grafton Road, you will eventually find Auckland Domain which is the biggest park in Auckland and has the Auckland War Memorial Museum, as well as an amazing botanical garden. Karangahape Road (a.k.a 'K' Road) - If you head up the hill on Queen Street, you'll eventually reach K Road, where you'll find Auckland's alternative night scene. Many great bars, live music, shisha cafes, and cheap takeaways are what K Road is known for. Ponsonby – If you head West of the CBD, you will find the Ponsonby area. There is old colonial-style architecture there, many great stores for shopping, restaurants, bars, and cafes. Some of the best restaurants in Auckland are here, especially great for fine dining as this is an up-market area of Auckland. Apart from these mini adventures, Queen Street (main street the city) is filled with shops, bars, cafes, restaurants, live music venues, and more! Make sure you explore High Street as well, which lies just parallel to Queen Street. That whole area is very nice to walk, relax, or dine out in, and tends to be a bit cheaper than Queen Street if you want to do some shopping. If you want to explore further Auckland then you can take a walk towards the Viaduct from the apartment. There you will find Britomart station. (Bus and train) Getting Around: There is the SkyBus to and from the Airport, or via taxi. For trains, busses, and ferries: Britomart bus and train station/Wynyard Wharf Ferry Terminal and Downtown Pier 4\. You can also use the Lime Scooters to get around the city, as well as Uber (or Zoomy – NZ’s version of Uber). Would love to give it a higher rating as it is a nice apartment but there were a number of issues. When we first arrived we noticed flooding in the bathroom - we quickly established it was from the bathroom sink which it became apparent someone has washed a significant amount of chopped hair down. Everytime we tried to use the sink more and more hair would come back up and be left sitting in the bowl. We emailed the property manager immediately and made phone calls (left a message) the next day but were unable to make contact until the following morning (we were checking out that afternoon). The other thing that was a bit of a let down was there was no information guide in the room - no information as to where to find the included extras eg. Spa, sauna, no details of emergency exit/meeting points and no information regarding check out. In one email there was an attached brochure detailing checkout but the link wouldn’t work - again I had emailed asking for this to be sent again but no contact until final day. Once we had details of what to clean and where to put things we were unable to do so as the equipment left wasn’t suitable (asked to turn dishwasher on with provided tablets but there was only washing liquid) so I went to hand wash dishes and the plug was miles to small to fit. The rest of the apartment was fabulous - great bed, wonderful that it is obviously soundproof - never heard the traffic or anything!
