I enjoyed my 2 night stay here. The location is great - just a 5 minute walk from the cathedral and San Juan de Dios market - and the price was very reasonable. My room (on the 5th floor) was clean and seemed to have been more recently renovated. People complain about the smell of the water, but i think it's a city wide thing not particular to the hotel. Just don't drink it - they give you bottled water. The pool on the rooftop is a nice feature - i actually used it on a sunny afternoon. My room key also got deactivated on the second day, but they fix it for you quickly at the front desk. Friendly staff and they gave me a nice tour of the property during check-in.

I was there on business and drove. Both proved a challenge. The internet on the 3rd floor was extremely spotty. It disconnected regularly. I may have missed it, but a note clarifying parking would be helpful. It is on a one way street, one lane. I ended up parking 3 blocks away and then going back for the car. As I said in my evaluation, staff, amenities (other than internet) and location were excellent.

My girlfriend and I stayed at Hacienda La Labor for a romantic getaway, and it was one of the highlights of our trip to Guadalajara. The property is absolutely beautiful, full of history and authentic Mexican charm. One of our favorite experiences was the horseback ride, which ended with a private picnic—it was such a unique and romantic touch that we’ll never forget. The room was comfortable and quiet, and we slept great thanks to the incredibly comfortable bed and excellent air conditioning. The bathroom was charming, the shower had great water pressure, although it was a bit small. The only thing we noticed was that the floors could have been a little cleaner. Breakfast was outstanding. The chilaquiles were hands down the best we’ve had anywhere in Mexico, and every morning was something we looked forward to. The only downside was that there was construction taking place during our stay. It didn’t ruin our experience, but it would have been nice to know in advance before arriving. Overall, Hacienda La Labor is a wonderful place for couples, families, or even weddings. If you’re looking for a peaceful stay with beautiful historic surroundings and unforgettable experiences, we highly recommend it. We would gladly stay here again.
