Guests are sure to enjoy a memorable vacation in this cedar shake, all-wood interior, fully furnished, 4 bedroom/ 4.5 bath beach house. The master bedroom has a king sized bed, the others are furnished with a queen-sized bed, 2 twin beds and an extra large bedroom featuring 2 doubles. The house sleeps 8-10 comfortably. The indoor spaces feature original artwork, unique furnishings, and the kitchen is equipped with almost new appliances and cookware. Situated on the second row, the beach is just steps away. On the spacious front porch, guests can enjoy ocean views, cool breezes and lovely sunsets. And the best nap/ book reading in the world is to be found while lounging on the front porch hanging bed. There is also a large side screened porch, back deck & outdoor shower. When not on the wide, soft sand beach (less than a three-minute walk), enjoy nearby attractions such as biking in various parts of Bogue Island, touring historic Fort Macon State Park, taking boat excursions (or your own boat) to Cape Lookout National Seashore and Lighthouse and other nearby islands, seeing weekly concerts at Fort Macon, visiting the colonial town of Beaufort and its waterfront scenery and restaurants, the NC Aquarium, and Morehead City restaurants and nightlife, savoring a Sunset drink at the bar located at the end of the nearby Oceana Fishing Pier which gives a panoramic view of the coastline, or water activities including kayaking, canoeing, and surfing. The water remains warm enough for swimming well after Labor Day so consider a long-weekend as fall begins. In winter, enjoy seeing the sun set directly over the Atlantic Ocean due to the island's orientation along the coast and the location of the sun. I assume that the house was directly on the water or not a roll of houses in between but because it rained the whole weekend I was there. It really didn’t matter. The house was beautiful. Everything was clean. It truly has an upscale, classic beach feel. There are three ensuites – the bedroom on the first floor can be converted to an ensuite using the pocket doors. It's not oceanfront but does have an ocean view from the front porch. There is plenty of parking – which seems to be at a premium in this neighborhood. Hannah, the owner, was overseas during our stay but was very proactive, making the check-in process extraordinarily easy. She was just a text away if there were any problems - which there wasn't. The home is large and spacious which gave us plenty of room to spread out. The property does have several sets of stairs but that is well documented in the property pictures. The kitchen is well stocked and the house is spacious and clean. The front porch is the perfect place for morning coffee or afternoon drinks. It’s beautiful and has lots of personalized decorations. The house feels homey and every room has ample space. The beds are extremely comfortable with a softer king bed and firmer full beds for those who have a preference. The bedding is beautiful and comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked and the layout of where things are in it makes sense. We had food delivered (door dash) a couple of times and had no issues. The beach access is a couple houses down and even though it’s public beach access, it felt very private with only a few residential neighbors being around when we’d go. The house is a short maybe two or three minute drive to Fort Macon and it’s definitely worth checking out. Definitely head into Beaufort for some quaint, local shopping! The only thing I’d caution is there are some fragrant oil diffusers that smell amazing but may be too strong for someone with fragrance sensitivities or it could possibly be an eczema trigger. ##### Whitney K. The house is located on a quiet street just steps away from a beach access. The front porch was great for midday naps on the swing and enjoying the sunset. The kitchen was well appointed with everything you might need for making family meals. The house was very clean and felt like a home as opposed to a third party rental.
