My expectations must have been too high as I frequented this property years ago when it opened and under private management. The property is run down and the desk staff average at best in terms of hospitality training. I did find the maintenance staff engaging. The downside is that I had to engage the maintenance staff three times in a 2 night stay. The first night we woke up to what amounted to a water everywhere by the window. Soaked carpet all due to a massive amount of condensation on the windows as if it was raining on the inside. This is the second Hilton property I’ve stayed at where the venue was “historic“ but the staff were not trained well and the property not up to speed. Hilton, if you are going to put your name on a property and endorse a management group I suggest better systems and controls. I will be taking another extended break from Hilton properties.
