My mind was blown. But. All that came with a lot of inconveniences that should have never occurred if at least the cleaning team had made some equipment checks or had a technician fix damaged equipment before my arrival. I was constantly in contact with Pelican team for 2 whole days, plus 3 visits from Pelican reps to try to fix those issues. I didn't pay all that money to "assist" the property owners with fixing things in the apartment. I was on vacation. A closet door was damaged, a tv never worked, the bedsheets and pillows were awfully dirty, cracking paint in the bathrooms, inop light bulb above the stove, safety door lock issue. I wasted a day to re clean all bedding items and towels. Pelican offered me 2 new pillows, cleaning pods and air fresheners. I couldn't sleep well because of the outside light. They put sun filtering curtains but no blackout curtains. I did not enjoy my stay. Plus I was given a wrong code for the 3 main doors of the building. It had taken the Pelican rep about 15 minutes to give correct ones after several attempts over the phone. She was not attentive to my request, plus having cell phone service issues on my side. The apartment was big enough for just two people, but we did not mind that at all, of course. Surprisingly, the bed was comfortable, and I say that because, in my experience, they're usually not. The bathroom was a bit narrow, and I noticed a bit of wear and tear in the tub and ceiling, but nothing major. I also noticed that the floor in the main living area wasn't squeaky clean. It could have used some sweeping and mopping, but nothing major. This actual apartment building is called The Byron on Peachtree, on Google maps. This building is heavily gated making it very secure. There is an elevator and there are cameras everywhere.They have a nice lounge to hang out with friends, with free coffee and chocolate drinks! There is a gym. No swimming pool. Publix Super Market at Piedmont is just 5-6 mins of walk for groceries, pharmacy and deli food, which makes this place extremely family friendly and convenient. Georgia World Congress Center is a 7-8 min drive. Georgia Aquarium is about 5-6 min drive. There are 2 Marta train stations: Civic Center Station and North Ave Station, both in 2 min drive or about 7-9 mins walk. Lyft is super cheap to hire and is easily available in less than 5 mins, Lyft seemed cheaper than Uber when we were there. I would recommend that over driving. If you take the train, it would cost you less than $5 by train and around $35-$40 by lyft to the airport from this location. Airport is about 20 min by drive and 30 mins by train. But, we were recommended against taking the train in the late evenings for safety concerns. Emory Hospital is right opposite this building. Apartment restrooms did not have toiletries! Beds were comfortable. AC was working. TV had netflix and other options. Kitchen had all cutleries, cookware and appliances including dishwasher. Ideal for cooking at home. I DO NOT recommend their sofa bed and futon, 2BHK is apt for 4-5 people. We checked in very late ( they were very accommodating and gracious) but that did not make up for the fact that my code to get in the building didn't work and so I was lucky when a guest let me in since the staff couldn't help me on their end.
