Hated it

Posted 19-Jul-2017
We had to switch rooms twice before we were somewhat comfortable. And even that room didn't have toilet paper. The first room was disgusting, old take out food in the fridge, water in the trash can, hair all over the bathroom. The front desk however was great in helping us best they could. So thank you to them!

I really wanted to like this hotel!!

Posted 11-Jul-2017
Pros: Location, nearby restaurant, Black-owned and operated.
Cons: Cleanliness, clean sheets.
We came via the Juneteenth referral and were so glad to be in the neighborhood. The rooms, though, were super small and didn't feel refreshed at all. My traveling companion's room smelled of smoke. I didn't mind the size but she did. We left after one night, I am sorry to say. These reviews are accurate. On a brighter note, the restaurant next door is outstanding! And the hotel staff was friendly and warm.

This is the worst most overpriced inn I have ever been to. I paid for one night that was just slightly cheaper than a hotel, thinking I can save a few dollars. The inn looked nothing like described. It was in a terrible area outside the metropolitan part of the city. The room had very poor lighting, and it smelled like cigarettes. We asked to change the room. The receptionist was nice but the next room she gave us smelled like mold. We stayed in the initial room and opened the windows to see if it would help. Right outside the window were a bunch of guys standing and talking loudly. The outlets to plug chargers were behind the beds and hard to reach. We had to push the beds away from the wall. And then we find out the only outlet working was the one over the microwave. The bathroom was missing amenities. There was no soap, so I had an extra bar I brought with me that we used and only one towel. The beds!!! They had the thinnest sheets possible that smelled terrible. And we could not sleep all night from the way the beds squeaked if you made a slight move or adjusted your position. The breakfast included were waffles you had to make on your own on a dirty old waffle maker, stale bagels and cereal and yoplait yogurt. We then come to find out as we are driving that we caught bed bugs. My dad who was staying with me had all his clothes infested & couldn't stop scratching. It's been a week & my dad still is dealing with them since they got into his bag. NEVER COMING BACK

Staff fabulous

Can not say enough about how great staff was from front desk to housekeeping. How ever routine up keep on hotel obviously lacking, Wi-Fi only in lobby not in rooms , Breakfast was a joke choice of cold cereal, fruit( not necessarily fresh), danish and waffles. Negative aspects out weigh positive

No Covering

Posted 26-May-2017
There was no awnings or covering to load or unload. No washcloths or hangers. Had to ask. Only got towels, no washcloths. Hotel outdated.

This hotel could do a lot more to make the experience better for guests... at $99 a night I would have liked to be told the wifi, the breakfast hours, and had a clean room. It appeared nobody took their job very seriously.
