Overnight stay
A quirky hotel. The room was more like a studio with self catering facilities. No wardrobe or hanging space. Good value breakfast and safe parking. Good restaurant nearby.

Really worried about staying here after reading the reviews, but the hotel was perfect for our needs and for one night. The wi-fi is non existant and this needs to be resolved and theirs no air con, but if you're looking for a family room that's cheap, near the normandy beaches then look no further.

It’s great for a 3 star hotel. It’s well situated for seeing the D Day monuments. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms could be updated but then you’d be paying much more.

Showed up at this hotel with a confirmed booking to find a locked gate and no one there for reception. Called all three numbers multiple times… no answer. Stood in the dark, in the rain for 90 minutes calling and finally had to book another hotel at 11pm. Awful place. Terrible service. Book elsewhere!

Dear Tanya,I am the front desk manager and after reading such a message, be sure that I did a serious check on what happened to you on the evening of May 08.It seems that your online reservation was late and therefore integrated a few minutes (at 23:07 sharp) after the reception closed which was at 23:00. Unfortunately, despite our automatic message by e-mail guiding you in this process, you missed the information advising you to use the automatic terminal (which you could have just as easily used to book and enter the hotel, as to enter your Expedia booking number to get your room key). We are sorry that you did not manage to use the facilities and therefore we can only regret this situation which we cannot charge as a fault on our part.

Great Dday beaches home base!
We had a wonderful stay at Gold Beach Hotel and Residence! Right from check in, you are greeted with warm hospitality. The location is great for exploring the Dday beaches and memorials. The room is spacious and the beds were comfy. Not luxurious, but a clean, comfortable place to use as home base!

Perfectly placed for visiting the remains of the Mulberry Harbour at Gold Beach which you can walk to at low tide. The staff were helpful and charming - especially Mario who makes breakfast a memorable occasion with his flawless English and friendly chatting.

Great spot, right in the middle of the main 5 d day beaches, a few kilomoters from Bayeux. Very nice and helpful staff.

Interesting idea, for self contained accommodation with cooking facilities and a mezzanine floor. Located in a quiet place very close to the beach. Reception very friendly. Breakfast not bad. However, the room felt very tired and was grubby. Hot water didn’t work until we fathomed the consumer unit. Torn seats were just horrid.

Centrally located along the D-Day beaches route
Clean accommodations; friendly and knowledgeable staff; excellent location midway along the 5 D-Day beaches. Looking forward to staying here again! (Tip: Walk down to the beach - 3-minute walk - and check out the German bunker that was decommissioned by the British.)

Excellent location. Very comfortable bed. No food storage space except for fridge. Cupboards housing all crockery, cutlery etc too high to reach. Very large hot water tank took up too much room.

A good family motel
This is a typical holiday motel; nothing too special but well located and no doubt good in summer - bottom floor rooms open to a grassed area with chairs and sun beds. Very close to ‘Gold Beach’. Handy to have a small kitchenette and fridge. Reception was friendly. Nearby Arromanches has the best off-season bar and dining options

The hotel was easy to find. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The breakfast was good. The room was clean and spacious with a small kitchen supplied with everything we needed to cater for ourselves. The sandy beach was only a short walk and it was only a short drive to the D-Day museums.

Staff were excellent and space to move in rooms!!!
Overall I would book this place again. It had plenty of space, we booked the loft room which we needed after a few tiny rooms at other places. The breakfast was decent actually had eggs and bacon and some sweet tarts etc. The staff were excellent, very close to the beach and a good place for us as we are Canadian and visited the major Canadian memorial/museums. It was also not far away from Omaha beach and other memorial sites.

On the whole it was acceptable, although cleaning could do with improvement. Several cobwebs in corner of ceiling. Breakfast was highlight of stay, far superior to Hotel we stayed at earlier.

Perfect.for beach / 2nd World War visit
Location ideal for beach / 2nd World War visit. The staff were lovely & friendly. We had a ground floor room with terrace which was perfect for meals outside. Would definitely visit again. Thank you - we had a lovely time

Great Hotel, Great Value, Garett Stay
This hotel was a great surprise and a real treasure. For the money, it over delivers. Rooms are the right size, with a loft if you need it. Small efficiency kitchen with fridge and stove. Two excellent restaurants right across the street, once associated with the hotel. The entire are is unnervingly quiet. I’ve never been in such a quiet place. Breakfast is great, but hit it early, otherwise the room become quickly crowded. I like a quiet, solidarity breakfast, personality. Overall can’t recommend the place highly enough. Really enjoyed our three-day stay.

Great hotel for the family
This hotel had a great setup for families with a loft for the kids and a kitchenette to even prepare meals. The location is also walking distance to the beach. We would definitely stay here again.

A Hidden Gem in low-cost Hotels
I've stayed at Gold Beach Hotel previously and was impressed with the amenities they provide compared to other hotels in the same category. The location is good for visiting all the D-Day venues. The check-in was flawless, the front desk staff person, Dalila, was the BEST. She makes you feel like you're family. The room is clean, the bathroom is spacious for a small hotel and comes with soap and shampoo, and and the room came equipped with a small refrigerator, microwave, and coffee pot. They provided plenty of extra towels, pillows, and blankets There is plenty of free parking and the parking lot is secure. Other than the postage stamp size toilet paper dispensers all European hotels seem to be using these days, there was nothing else that I would expect or could ask for. Breakfast is not included in the price of the room, but the price I paid was very reasonable and I would not expect breakfast to be included at that price anyway. Breakfast is available at an extra cost. Free wi-fi is also provided. Pick up a roll of toilet paper before you check in to this hotel and your stay will be a great experience.Five stars out of Five for me on this place. Can't wait to get back there when I visit Normandy again.
