Siskiyou Mountain Place vacation rental, located southeast of Ashland, is a casual luxury retreat comprising an entire 1100 square feet floor of a 5000 square foot custom home with million dollar views in a serene forest setting. This vacation rental includes a fully furnished large main room with kitchenette, dining area and 175 square foot covered deck, full custom bathroom, one bedroom with king bed, another with two queens and a sitting area, all with BRAND NEW beds/bedding, furnishing, fixtures and appliances. New AC/heat system, ceiling fans, and crank-open double-pane windows for a cool breeze. Enjoy a shaded panoramic view toward Grizzly Peak and Emigrant Lake, plus spectacular sunsets. Ample (about one acre -- grounds for guest walking, hiking, birdwatching, picnicking or playing in the snow (0-30 days each winter) for those who enjoy it. The beds, loveseat, and chairs are all comfortable. There is a TV in the living room and both bedrooms. The wi-fi is good. In addition to chairs, the porch has a swing and a telescope, and there is a hammock and a grill in the yard. The A/C worked well and there was a beautiful walk-in shower. The bathroom sinks were also beautiful (art glass bowls mounted on top of traditional height cabinets) but their rims were very high and would be challenging for short people or children to use.The hosts responded to questions very quickly, and thoughtfully left some bottled water and snacks.The location is about halfway between Ashland and the CA border. About a 20 minute drive into town. Be aware that the roads from I-5 and state route 66 are windy and steep and may be challenging in snowy or icy weather (on the plus side, there is little traffic - there was more wildlife than cars on these roads).The one other thing to be aware of (which is disclosed in the listing) is that there is no washer or dryer so you either have to bring enough clothes to last through your stay, wash clothes in a sink, or drive into Ashland to use a laundromat. Fortunately, we brought enough clothes to last our stay. Also, there is only one restaurant within 5 miles, for anything else (groceries, fuel, etc.), you have to drive into Ashland. ##### Michael R. Our hosts were very accommodating and great at communicating. The space is generously appointed with comfortable chairs, beds, and a fully stocked kitchen. When we came back from dinner there was a buck standing on the porch! You are truly in the mountains and we really enjoyed the quiet evening. We really enjoyed the space, the beds were super comfy, everything was super clean, and the addition of a bunch of available indoor annd outdoor games and toys really took it up a notch! We had 2 under 2yo kiddos with us who also really seemed to enjoy the space and feel right at home! The hosts were communicative and so kind. We would love to see the check-out instructions displayed more clearly as we found it hard to decipher just that pertinent information!
