With private lake access, a sauna, hot tub, games room, and space for 10, it’s the perfect escape for families or friends to relax, reconnect, and celebrate INSIDE When you walk through the front door of Birch Beach Lake House, I hope the first thing you feel is ease—as if the weight of life just dropped off your shoulders. You’ll step into a warm, welcoming great room with beautiful exposed beams, soft light, and plenty of space to settle in and breathe. The kitchen is a space you’ll truly enjoy. It’s fully stocked with everything you need to prepare your favorite meals, featuring a Viking gas stove and a central island so friends and family can gather around—whether they’re lending a hand or simply keeping you company. One of my favorite things to do is fire up the wood-fired pizza oven and make dinner an experience in itself. When it’s time to eat, you can gather around the large dining table inside, overlooking the lake, or take things outdoors to a round dining table that makes conversation easy and natural. You’ll also find a games room where older kids (and kids at heart) can challenge each other to Frogger or shuffleboard. There’s even a karaoke machine if the mood strikes! Downstairs, you can cozy up by the gas fireplace in the rec room for a movie night, or sneak in a quick workout on the treadmill in the fitness area. In the afternoon, grab a glass of wine and a good book and settle into the screened sunroom—the perfect cozy spot rain or shine. There are lots of games to enjoy in the yard, including a badminton net, and there’s plenty of comfortable seating and a hammock where you can lounge and take in the views. When you're ready to explore the water, take the staircase—about 80 steps—down to the lake. While there’s some cement rubble at the bottom of the stairs, just turn left and hop over the breakwall to discover your own beach deck. You’ll find two kayaks and a paddleboard waiting there, all set for your lake adventure. In the evening, gather around the firepit with marshmallows and a good ghost story, watching one of Lake Huron’s world-famous sunsets. And if you're lucky you can try to catch the rare double sunset—a Goderich gem, and your front-row seat is right here. NOTE: Approx. 80 stairs to the lake. The shoreline changes quite rapidly - it can be sandy or it can be gravelly and that could change in 1 day! There are no weeds and it's fun to find the ever changing sandbars. This weekend we camping at Point Farms Provincial Park off of Lake Huron. It's our first time here and the beach is enormous!!! I highly recommend visiting this place as its great for families. White sandy beaches that stretch as far as the eye can see. Water is cold but refreshing with only a little bit of seaweed. The shallow end extends quite far out giving you lots of room to have fun without getting in anyone's way. Bugs aren't too bad either. There is no firewood available within the park but a 30 second drive north outside the park marks a small variety store where you can buy all your camping needs such as fire starters, wood, kindling, and so on. The closest grocery store is about a 20 minute drive south towards Goderich called Zehers. The location is fantastic and easy to get to. The cottage itself is beautiful, very new and clean!! All the rooms and shared living spaces were spacious and clean. Plenty of showers and bathrooms which made it easy for a group of 10\. And lots to do with the available amenities and the large backyard. The beach was also fantastic. Private and shallow enough. Only draw back is the steps to the beach which is clearly stated in the booking so it was not a surprise.We would definitely stay here again!!! ##### Farzad B. It was the perfect location for 8 adults for a post wedding extended celebrations. The house was the perfect size, lots of space, the property was beautiful, and amenities suited our needs perfectly. Sep 16, 2025 #### Family Long Weekend Bliss Our group of 10 recently rented Birch Beach Lake House for a family long weekend. To say we had a wonderful time would be an understatement. We needed a space large enough for our whole family plus our dogs. Cottage Stays had a large number of pet friendly rentals, which can often be difficult to find. The cottage itself was beautiful with all the conveniences of home plus a wood fire pizza oven! The cottage decor was gorgeous, comfortable and cozy with lots of room for everyone. Our group opted to have the linen service, which was money well spent, as it was something we didn't need to pack from home. Birch Beach Lake House has the most spectacular view of Lake Huron and the sunsets are world class. There were a number of stairs to access the beach, but we were aware of this in advance and were no issue to anyone in our group. The beach was quiet, natural and we enjoyed several walks taking in the scenery. The communication from Cottage Stays before, during and after our stay was the best I have experienced in any vacation rental. They care about their guests and were quick to answer any questions we had. Plus they checked in several times with tips and to make sure we were enjoying our stay. I will not hesitate to rent Birch Beach Lake House or any of the Cottage Stays properties again in the future. Our family is already talking about next year! Well done Cottage Stays.
