C'est trop cher pour le prix payé. Nous avions la chambre 2\. Impossible de passer entre le côté droit du lit et le mur à cause de la climatisation. Pas de table ou d'étagère pour un simple smartphone de ce côté. Isolation phonique inexistante : des gens parlaient sur la terrasse jusqu'à 2h00! Ils sont passés sur TV ensuite jusqu'à 5h...et comme l'isolation n'avait pas changé entre temps. La chambre est petite et surtout mal organisée, contrairement à tous autres les hôtels de notre séjour. La literie n'est pas terrible non plus. Celà n'est pas rattrapé par la décoration (il n'y a rien qui rappelle les années 60), contrairement à celle de l'accueil. Dommage, car Brevard est une jolie petite. Nous avons eu un diner super au Magpie et le petit déjeuner (seul hôtel sur 25 nuit sans petit déjeuner même basique proposé...) aussi, dans une boulangerie de la ville qui fait d'excellents croissants et de la baguette française (les 2 meilleurs que ce qu'on peut trouver en France dans nos pseudo-boulangeries). Bref, pas inoubliable ou alors il faudrait diviser le prix par 2.... En plus, le panneau années 60 extérieur était en réparation, à moitié éclairé et avec un bel échafaudage devant. I have stayed there twice as a single traveler. The rooms have been super clean, smartly decorated and very comfortable. I love their concept - take an old school travelers motel, keep the art deco feel of the past but have modern amenities and updated bathrooms and beds. The little record players and a few albums are a cute touch. It is nothing fancy - there is no free breakfast (which are usually less than to be desired anyways). It is nicely decorated in the retro style and is a fun throwback to the motels of the 50's and 60's. I like that there were two chairs, so my spouse and I could both sit to watch TV or read, because I prefer to sit for these activities as opposed to lying in bed. The price was right and accommodations excellent. Older hotel. It is what it is, and what was expected. It was well maintained, and clean. These types of places usually have lots of personality. This one was no exception. The room we stayed in was in the back, so quiet, and had a small kitchen. We didn't really meet the staff as we got in late and left early. They left a key for us. I played an old Tony Bennett's greatest hits album (there were a few other choices, all old gems) on the old style record player, which put out about the same quality sound as my first record player – the one where I played my 45s. Ahhh. I thought it was just perfect for our needs. Unfortunately, we did not leave a tip for the housekeeping. The driveway to the rear rooms is potholes with a fence that is falling down. Chemicals stored next to building. Reasonably clean, but we found mouse droppings and spiders. Super cute and retro. Had a turntable, and a cute little make-up/hair dresser corner in the wash area. Located within walking distance to downtown, and all the shops, restaurants and brew pubs!
