Spacious house with plenty of VIEWS!
House is spacious and can accommodate an extended family gathering. Bedrooms were large, with adequate amenities. Overall, the house is old but fits in with the mountain home vibes. There are windows in every room that maximize opportunity for mountain views. House has been furnished thoughtfully, kids really loved the table and library in the upstairs sunroom. The game room was also a HIT! It has arcade games, ping pong, foosball, and a PIANO! The only issue with the house was the cleanliness, or lack thereof. The house was tidy but DIRTY! The fans in the bedrooms had half an inch of dust built up, also dust trapped in the exhausts in the bathrooms, there were hair on the bathroom floor upon our arrival, the main floor was so dirty that my son's feet were black with dirt with just 5 minutes of walking on them. They need to fire their current cleaner and get a new one. I would have given 5 stars if the property was clean. A hefty cleaning fee is charged for NO cleaning.

Perfect for our Christmas holiday for our 3 generational family of 13, ages 10-70. VERY spacious! 3 fridge/freezers. Huge rec room with large wet bar, ping pong, foosball, arcade games, and other micellany. Yard large enough for family touch football.

Snow Tubing!
For a Christmas gift, I took my 4 daughters and their families to NC snow tubing. The space was perfect! It was easy to get to, had everything we needed and had so much space for everyone to spread out. I would recommend this for a family location - it was easy to be there and the views are remarkable!!

Corporate Retreat
This house one of the most incredible views!! We loved the front yard and just soaking in the view. We also did some great stargazing in the night. The house does have quite a lot of bugs inside and outside. They are a couple neighborhood dogs that were a bit of a nuisance. One came up to us at the fire pit both nights startling the group. They also kept the whole house up barking and howling all through the night. I had to use earplugs the second night. The kitchen could be better stocked. The mother in law suite had no cookware, and we couldn't find a sheet pan in the entire house. Overall it suited our needs for a couple nights.

This home has everything a large group could need. Kitchen, dining, outdoor area, games- the property contributed to a fantastic reunion! Accommodations were very clean, and beds were comfortable. The Owners have very thoughtfully prepared for their guests- and the view is otherworldly! Hope to be back!

Vacation House
To start, my family and I had an AMAZING trip. We were able to get our giant group together and spend some quality time with each other, without feeling like we were on top of each other. Overall we had a really wonderful stay. There were a few things that we were not expecting. Firstly the driveway is WILD. I really think the owners would benefit from paving it. It is treacherous to walk or drive up/down. All of us made it up and down safely every time we had to leave, but a few frights were involved in it. This would definitely not stop me from staying here again, just be prepared. The only other fault I see in this house is the cleanliness is not great. It's not disgusting, but we found old hamburger buns in the oven and some other leftover food in the toaster. Also, the shower/tub in the master bathroom is not very clean. Overall though. my whole group was very comfortable and had a great experience all together. There was plenty to do and plenty of space to hang out. The fire pit outside was a hit and the view in the morning was stunning. Thank you so much to the host for being so responsive and making our stay easy and enjoyable. :)

Great Family Outpost
We hosted a surprise 70th birthday party with extended family. This was a perfect retreat for that. Plenty of space for everyone to stay comfortably, great kitchen and living space, and the game room was a hit with both kids and adults. If you are expecting fancy, this may not be your place, but if you are looking for incredible views, wide open entertaining, and reasonable access to Asheville and the Biltmore, this is a perfect escape. Host was very responsive and a pleasure to work with. Thanks again.

Uncomfortably Dirty and Neglected
This house is in a great location with a great view. The positives stop there. The house was dirty beyond any possible way of explanation. Dirty sheets, dirty counter, dirty walls, dirty doors, dirty furniture. Broken cabinets, broken ping pong table, broken faucets, hot water is on a daily timer, spiders everywhere! We ended up throwing away all socks due to being ruined by the floors. We washed everything we packed, in doing so, we realized two wolf spiders climbed in our suitcase!!! Master Shower very dirty. If I owned the place I would be embarrassed.

Lots of space but not very clean
There is a ton of space for a large group of people. You cohoe probably sleep 25 or more here if you wanted. However, it was not very clean at all. There were lots of dead bugs on window sills, floor and in the refrigerator and fruit flies all over the kitchen when we arrived. 2 of the 3 refrigerators were unplugged or not working. Upon arriving, the air conditioning did not work up stairs. The hosts were immediately responsive and sent someone out of fix it but unfortunately it could only be fixed for half of the upstairs during our stay as they needed to order a new part. Although this was frustrating the hosts did handle very well and those in the warmer side of the house were able to sleep comfortably with the fans provided

We had a wonderful time in this big home, the property is amazing. The view alone is just awesome. Robert and Gabriela are easy to work with and very gracious. We should have brought some lawn games because the property is just inviting to play outside. But you could also play ping pong inside in the big game and bar room . We made a fire in the fire pit and made s’mores.

Space is awesome. House could use some upgrading.
We rented this house for our family for our wedding weekend. The house is huge with plenty of bedrooms (privacy) for individual guests. The kitchen is perfect for gathering. Upon check-in there were several dead bugs in windowsills and along floorboards; cobwebs and dust on fans. House needs a deep clean. Furniture is adequate, but very dated. House needs painting and general refresh. Overall. We enjoyed our experience (we were not actually at the house much).

A perfect retreat
An excellent property for a small group to rent for a very peaceful and spacious get away. 4-Wheel drive would be a bonus for getting up the final stretch of gravel road to the house, but besides that everything was amazing with beautiful views, excellent kitchen and entertainment space, and absolute silence away from everything yet close enough to get to Asheville to explore the town.

Accommodating Home with Exceptional Views
We visited Asheville with a group of friends, but wanted to stay on the outskirts a bit. This Marshall was perfect. Accommodating rooms, clean kitchen, and beautiful (secluded) views from the large yard. We had a wonderful stay and the process went smoothly. Highly recommend the Marshall house.
