Room was smaller than expected and bed was very wobbly. Hotel room seemed to smell a bit musty. I waited for more than 10 minutes in the restaurant for breakfast. Was supposed to park a short distance away from the hotel as the hotel parking was unable to accommodate the bigger ride I had which was a Toyota Noah. However managed to park outside the hotel after the staff saw that I have children. While I appreciate that they accommodated my check-in request before the scheduled time, the way they mentioned it—saying they had to make a special arrangement—felt outdated. They could have simply said, “Luckily, the cleaning was completed, so you can use the room,” or, from a risk management perspective, they could have informed me that the cleaning was not yet finished. The service was excellent. Staff were helpful and kind. The hotel lobby is grand. Only two elevators for the entire hotel so service can be a bit slow especially during check-in time. The rooms are reasonably sized. The hotel is old so the rooms smelled quite musty and muggy. The a/c runs really well though so it’s cool in the summer. The bathroom piping is dated so expect loud noises and strange sounds. The location is not too bad.
