"Great trip for a great price"
This is my third time to Aruba and first time at Tropicana. I was a little worried after reading the reviews, but we had a wonderful time. I had an updated room, so I can't speak for the condition of those that are not renovated. My room was spacious and spotless. I had positive experiences with every employee from the front desk, to the bell hops to housekeeping. Everyone was friendly, helpful and accommodating. There were always plenty of chairs at both pools as well as at the beach which is just a short walk through La Cabana and across the street. We walked to the Super Foods grocery store twice. It is a 10 minute walk from the resort. There are several nearby restaurants, and in less than 10 minutes you can get to the high rise area by cab. The only reason for not giving the resort a full 5 stars on the facility is because there is not much to do in the evening. There was karaoke on Friday, but other than that there is no music by the pool, entertainment or activities other than shuffleboard, checkers and chess. There is a casino on the property and another in La Cabana as well for those who enjoy that. All in all we had a great time at Tropicana.

"good hotel at the beach"
Hotel is located right at the beach. Close to shopping restaurants etc. Beach is beautiful and most of the rooms have some ocean view. Hotel is very old but staff keeps it as clean as possible. Food quality is poor and expensive. We ate outside of the hotel for most of the time. Overall I think it is a good hotel for reasonable price.

"Great hidden gem"
Far from the beach but the pool is great, the sun hits the patio perfectly (perfect sun/shade ratio) and the rooms are awesome. Relaxed atmosphere, the staff literally "disappear" so it feels like a condo vacation. Highly recommended, but maybe a rent a car if you're planning on doing beach days or going out.

"Great hotel for families! "
The Surf Club is in an excellent location with a wonderful beach and pool. Although it was very busy, it never seemed overly crowded. Our 2 room villa was spacious and comfortable for a family of 5.

"Great value"
My wife and I stayed at Club Arias in early April 2017. We were very pleased with the accommodations. The complex is older than the newer luxury resorts on other parts of the island. But we very much enjoyed the space, the pool and the on-site food service. That there wasn't hot water in the room shower (a shower with hot water is available near the pool area) was a minor inconvenience, but it did not detract from the enjoyment of our stay. We felt we got what we paid for - and then some. I'd certainly recommend Club Arias, particularly for those traveling to Aruba on a bit of a tight budget. Do know that, if you don't rent a car, you'll need to rely on bus or cab service to get to the high-rise area or downtown, the starting point for popular excursions. We did not rent a car but felt we got to see and do what we wanted. We did do a good bit of walking, and we made regular use of the local bus service.
