Beautiful surroundings, were doing a gentle cycling holiday, fantastic location for trails around Loch Etive and the fabulous route 78. Room was very tastefully decorated with grand four poster, big room. Large bathroom with good sized bath, I'm 6'2, no shortage of hot water. Couldn't ask for nicer hosts, go there.
The property is 4.5 miles off any main road and needs careful navigating to get there. Satnav takes you to a three way intersection but you are not there yet. If you are coming down a steep hill, take the LEFT fork and continue close to 1 mile and you will see their RED sign on the RHS. If you are coming the other way from Connel at the intersection DO NOT turn Left up the hill but continue straight on and about 1 mile further on will be the house on the RHS. Once you have made it, you will find it is very worthwhile!! A quiet pleasant rural location. The hostess, Diedre, is very pleasant and helpful; rooms a good size and all your needs are catered for. Excellent. For evening meals you will have to make your way back to Connel where there are a number of excellent Pubs or have your meal before you arrive. We had a wonderful two day stay. Tip: give yourself a little extra time to get there. The above instructions should assist.

Beautiful house in a spectacular valley accommodation and breakfast first class will visit again
We (two adults) spent two nights at Blarcreen House and are very happy with our stay. We were greeted and welcomed on arrival, checked in and shown to our room (The Henderson Room). It was a lovely spacious room with a King size 4 poster bed and Ensuite . Wonderful views and a very calming and relaxed atmosphere.
Sleeping was fantastic for us both as we found the bed very comfortable. (as well as the silence and darkness of the countryside).
Breakfast was fantastic on both mornings of our stay, well prepared, well presented, more than enough and tasted so delicious. (my wife is gluten intolerant and with prior notification during booking, there was a lot more options for her to choose from on the menu. Thank you)
Overall a truly fantastic stay with our lovely hosts at Blarcreen House and we shall definitely be back.
We highly recommend Blarcreen House it is so worth it.
A very old house in an idealistic setting. Hostess very congenial and out to make your stay comfortable. The house is down a narrow road that requires that you must take your time initially.
In a nice spot but a bit off the beaten track.
Well kept property but not very close to any places to eat out and meals are not offered at the property apart from included breakfast.
I was not informed of breakfast time on checking in so did not have a full breakfast on my first morning as I had an early start that day . I was told I should of read the information sheet in the room 😠
We loved staying in the Highlands at Blarcreen House. Far off the beaten track in a quiet lush setting, it was the perfect way to end each day of hiking and exploring the area near Glencoe and Oban. Sian was an excellent host, serving a delicious breakfast each morning. Her advice on where to go in the area were always the highlights of our days. The bed was comfy, the decor beautiful.
Very personal touch. Only three rooms. Beautiful surroundings by a loch.
Next restaurant is about 20 minutes by car, so if arriving late stop on your way (food stops to be served around 9pm).
The only negative thing about Blarcreen House is the early check out (10 am) and late checkin (5pm)
A beautiful country house located in picturesque setting just a short drive from Oban. We very much enjoyed our stay at Blarcreen House. The hosts were very friendly and helpful giving us different suggestions for day trips during our short stay. We particularly enjoyed the breakfast
Definitely stay here. The owners are wonderful! The breakfast is amazing! They did everything they could to make us comfortable. They even put little chocolates and cookies in the room...a very nice touch to go along with the heated towel rack, the bath robes, and the very updated fixtures. We loved it here.
Excellent B&B. We stayed a couple of nights and was extremely pleased with our room and the service. The breakfasts were superior as well. Would highly recommend Blarcreen House.

Sian greeted us as we pulled in and showed us to our room and offered us tea which was lovely.
This was a very lovely place to stay. The hosts offered great tips for making the most of a short trip nearby. The breakfast is delicious and the hospitality wonderful. Elegant accommodations and beautiful walks around property. I highly recommend to anyone looking for accommodations near Oban.
Blarcreen lived up to all our expectations! Sian was lovely - a most attentive host - and we had a very relaxing stay. Thank you, Sian. Didn't get a chance to properly meet the hard working Garry (the odd hello and a wave had to suffice!) but they have a lovely spot immaculately maintained. Highly recommend.
Lovely property in the country away from the hustle and bustle of urban areas. Hosts were very pleasant and welcoming. Breakfast was great. Would not hesitate there again.
Loved the whole experience. The property is in a rural setting so very peaceful and the house is beautifully presented. The hosts could not have been more helpful and the standard of the rooms, amenities and breakfast was to a very high standard.
This is a beautiful farm house set in the countryside. It has a feeling of comfort and coziness when you arrive. To us, it felt like home. The room we stayed in was spacious, there is complementary wifi and the view is breathtaking. Breakfast was made fresh and was the best Scottish breakfast in our travels. The porridge was also very yummy! This is a lovely place and one you must consider staying at!
Beautiful bed and breakfast in Oban! The proprietor was wonderful and recommended we eat in town before arriving as the bed and breakfast is a bit ooff the road. The room was wonderful and we slept great. Loved the breakfast, as well. Highly recommend.
Great food in a Victorian home with canopy bed, in room refrigerator, and welcoming host. Comfortable stay and we would come again. 15 minute drive to Oban and MacDougall Castle on narrow country road so drive slow.
When we were on our way our thoughts were that it was too far off the beaten track but once we arrived we couldn’t have been more pleased! Relaxing and super comfortable. Wonderful hosts ... peak of our trip!
We had a really lovely stay, beautiful area and great accomodation. Would highly recommend, and would be happy to stay there again if we were in the area again

Beautiful place in the countryside! Great hopitality and recommendations for things to do in the area! Loved hearing the sheep in the morning and seeing the sun come up over the lake.
Sian & Garry could not have been more helpful, especially when I lost my mobile phone (now recovered) It is a lovely B&B. Breakfast was a special treat!
This Georgian stone house is set on a farm beside the loch and offers elegant and very comfortable accommodation. Having breakfast with a view of the sheep grazing nearby feels like being in a Thomas Hardy novel. Sian and Garry are very warm and welcoming hosts and provide a superb breakfast of toast from home made bread, home made jam and marmalade and eggs from their chickens. We were welcomed with a cup of tea and home made lemon syrup cake before being taken to our room with antique furniture and a very comfortable bed. Our hosts were a mine of information on sight seeing and places to eat. They recommended the Three Island Tour run by ferry from nearby Oban and it was brilliant. We were delighted at seeing Mull, Iona and the puffins on Staffa. We stayed for four nights, cannot recommend Blacreen House too highly and would love to go back.
This B&B was lovely, in a beautiful rural setting. It was more outside of Oban than we anticipated. Despite the one-lane roads, our GPS took us there. Recommended for those who like to hike or take long walks and who want a rural, quiet setting.
Very beautiful and scenic. Very warm and helpful hosts. Made our vacation a pleasure to stay there for two nights. Will recommend it to our friends. Best nights sleep I have had in years.
