"The villa is even more beautiful than in the pictures! Very spacious, well-furnished, gorgeous gardens and beautiful pool, with ample places to relax and enjoy the spectacular view of Arezzo below. Wonderful outdoor spaces, perfect for dinners and allowing space for children to play. The arrangement of rooms into apartments was especially helpful for families traveling with small children.Arezzo is very well located, allowing for easy day trips to other places in Tuscany. And from the villa it was a very easy walk into town to explore, visit historical sites, museums and restaurants.All in all, I highly recommend the Villa Rossi Mattei as an outstanding place to spend as much time as possible!Having said that, the very best part of the Villa was our host, Liliana. The Villa has been in her family for 4 generations and she and her brother, Dante, who attends the gardens, treat it with such love. In the 8 months prior to arrival I had so many email exchanges with her that I actually miss her now! She promptly responded to every question I had and was incredibly helpful with suggestions. She arranged multiple dinners for us; everything that the chef created was delicious and some said it was the best Italian food they’d ever had. And she accommodated a few vegans and vegetarians. And the breakfast buffets she set up every morning were a winner with everyone.I was so thrilled with our stay that 4 of my friends have asked me to provide contact information."
