Hotel close to Plaza de Armas
Whatever you do, don't accept Room 118 or 116, they are Too close to the lobby and therefore very Loud. Also 118 Has no Windows.
The only good thing here is the breakfast.
Hotel was very clean, and comfortable and good location. However, night staff are quite poor as they didn't give us the wake up call we asked for. Hotwater is a hit and miss
The stay was a longer one for such a quick city to see. The breakfast was good and plentiful. The water was hot and the room was always clean and well put together. There are no windows, so it does get really dark at night. The hallway is beautiful to the rooms, but the doors closing and the voices do echo down the hallway. The water heater was behind our room and would go off when anyone in the hotel would use hot water and that was loud. It kept me up all night one night. The front desk help was very friendly and helpful, but couldn't help the noise. It is a while walk down the hotel (20 minutes) from the Plaza.
This nice hotel by downtown Arequipa is a great value for your money. The Staff was very cordial and helpful. The location is great, just three blocks from PLAZA DE ARMAS.
When we got there the hotel was empty. I got my reservation and the staff pretend that the hotel was completely full, and that the could not find my reservation, luckily for me I printed out the confirmation, and suddenly they found my reservation.
No natural light in the rooms. We have to asked for hot water.
Hotel is very clean and staff is very helpful. They helped me book a few tours and let me leave my bags while I went to colca canyon. Overall this hotel is more than worth the price.
We stayed 1 1/2 days here and they were very very accomodating. The breakfast was very good.

Arequipa trip
Great place for clean bed and shower. Staff was fantastic. Stayed over Christmas needed laundry done quickly. Only complaint - a little noisy. You can hear street noise.
Fantastic experience in a very professional, quiet, well located, and very reasonably priced hotel. The staff was first class, the room very clean and comfortable, the breakfast tasty, and the location absolutely outstanding.
nice hotel. Great location, very clean and good breakfast. Room was a little small and was a little hard getting fresh air to cool it down after a hot day.
Excellent hotel, in a refurbished casona in the colonial quarter. Has all the charm of it. The only things that differs it from a 4 star one is that there is just a window in the roof. But then for 20-25 Euro per night this is the best value for quality I've probably encountered on my many travels. Highly recommended.
I attended a conference and although my stay was for one night the service was very good. The room was well put away and I was able to enjoy a good night's sleep. - was supposed to stay at the colonial and due to being overbook I stayed at aQ. The staff ensured my experience was a good one
It has everything you expect from a hotel- clean, comfortable, breakfast, wifi- for a very affordable price. It is not a luxury hotel- but sure does the job when all you need is a place to stay while enjoying the tourist attractions in town, because in reality, while in Arequipa you will be so busy and will only have time to come and sleep. This hotel provides that very well in the "American comfort " way.
Overall hotel was good, but beds were not that comfortable abd the pillow was ridiculous. Also, the rooms are off a central courtyard which provides the only natural light but is also open to courtyard, so noise and light in the evening were a bit of an issue. The breakfast was quite good and location was excellent.
The room was beautiful and mostly clean, but the woman at the front desk was not very friendly or helpful. We tried to ask about good restaurants and small stores near by and she always looked annoyed that we were asking for her help. The beds were very comfortable thought and the shower was excellent, once they turned on the hot water for us. Overall, pretty good but I might try somewhere different next time I'm in Arequipa.
We loved our stay at Casona Plaza Colonial. Staff was nice, breakfast was great (however, there is only breakfast from 6-9, which was a little early for us, since we enjoyed the city at night as well) and the rooms was a little small, but very comfortable. We would love to return!
We were really impressed withis building. It is certainly old and I bet has some history. If our Spanish was up to scratch and the staff had more English then we might have got more info on the history. Our room was a large double ensuite. Overlooking the courtyard. The staff were very willing. Our pick up for the bus was really late arriving and the young girl made several phonecalls on our behalf. Highly recommended. This hotel.

Dear Helen and Don :
Thank you for your comments . The Hotel is a Historic Building that have been remodeled . We are glad that you had a excellent stay . We Hope you soon .
Totally fine hotel. Rooms without windows, feels a bit strange. But do you really need windows i a hotel room? Isn't it better to go out to see the sights?
Friendly and nice staff.
In my brothers room they had forgotten to change the bedsheets when the room was cleaned. Mistakes can happen and when he told the reception it was fixed within 5-10 min and that's whats important.
But one major downside the doors does nothing to keep noise out. That's a major issue. And the reason I give only 3
