"This place has a great location. Just outside of the heart of la Fortuna. It was safe, peaceful and we had everything we needed to make our own meals. It is a gated home/parking which was unique. It was cozy. The bed and pillows were comfortable. Good bang for your buck. I would recommend this place to anyone visiting the area!"

"Private, Bungalow type setting. The room was well equipped, with internet, air conditioning, plenty of excellent coffee on hand. Morning times were what my wife and I really enjoyed. A fantastic breakfast complete with plenty of excellent chilled, fresh fruit, and excellent company with the owner and his family. Monkey’s, Turkeys, Toucans, and a friendly little Hummingbird that would appear every morning, buzzing around close by as she enjoyed breakfast with us! Needless to say, we plan on returning next March. Fantastic experience. "
"We stayed for 2 nights and absolutely loved it. Check-in was extremely easy, the free breakfast was fresh and service was great. The AC was great and staff responds super fast using their WhatsApp. Location is amazing as it’s super close to El Salto and the waterfall but avoids the noise of downtown La Fortuna. The rain also sounded amazing on the roof at night. They also have private access to a river! Perfect location if you are looking for a stay in nature that still has the comfort of a resort. "
"Amazing experience. The grounds were so lush and beautiful. The restaurant was also great- fairly priced and quick. Drinks were soooo delicious. Also overlooks the lush trees and even saw monkeys from here!!
Another highlight is the staff. Specifically Kenneth in the bar and Isaac at the restaurant. So friendly, welcoming, helpful and knowledgeable.
This is less of a resort feel and more mountain cabin, but still has really great perks like the jacuzzi - we went in every night. Amazing spot!"

Although it’s family-run, the property is maintained with the professionalism of a high-end operation.The location is excellent, just minutes from La Fortuna and the stunning La Fortuna Waterfall, making it a perfect base for exploring the area's natural beauty. Being so close to nature, it wasn’t surprising to encounter a few insects, but the owner responded promptly and personally came by to change the bed sheets. That level of care and responsiveness was truly impressive.Overall, this is a beautiful property with thoughtful design, a prime location, and outstanding hospitality. Highly recommended!"
"We would highly recommend Villa Maria!The house was in a fantastic location, we could easily walk to town, sodas, restaurants and El Salto. It was clean and we felt very safe. The birds were amazing and the views of Arenal when the clouds are away is just unreal. The communication of the property manger was fantastic. They also helped set up transportation and an excursion. They were fast to respond and incredibly helpful. Highly recommend for your trip to La Fortuna. We were 6 adults with 7 teens."
