Oregon Falcon Cove Beach House This cozy, newly remodeled beach home is located in a quiet, secluded residential neighborhood. Located exactly between two awesome beach towns, Cannon Beach and Manzanita. Both towns are easily accessible only a few minutes away and offer restaurants, groceries, bookstores and other interesting shopping. Falcon Cove is nestled within Oswald West State Park, hiking distance (or less than 2 mile drive) to Short Sands beach. The park offers world class surfing, hiking, and beach lounging, tucked away in an amazing old growth forest. Falcon Cove also has its own unique surf break and has hiking trails accessible from the house. Falcon Cove is a gorgeous, fairly isolated and unpopulated area with rocky beaches at high tide and sandy beaches at low tide. Recently having been made a National Marine Reserve, Falcon Cove offers abundant sea life and tide pools. There are small views of the ocean from living room, kitchen and back deck and the beach is only a 1 1/2 block walk from the house. Plan to relax, read a book, spend time on the beach, recreate, forage for mushrooms, surf, go crabbing on the Nehalem River, and explore the amazing North Oregon Coast. We have recently added a rustic spa experience with an outdoor sauna. The house itself was clean and had everything you might need for a visit. However, the description states two full baths - only one and two other showers in the sauna and the laundry shed. You can hear the ocean from the house but the views are only partial. And lastly there wasn't a cold dip pool. We think perhaps the listing needs to reflect what is currently available. This is our second time to visit this area, and this ocean view beach house is perfect! It is a minute walk to a gorgeous and very private beach. It is perfectly stocked with everything we needed. It has very comfortable beds, great furniture in the living room, and I loved the mud room that walks out to a raised deck to watch the sunrise and all the windows along the living room. We had plenty of room... all the kids bedded down on the floor in the back den. It was nice to be able to close the door or not trip over their bedding all day. Restful and comfortable in a quiet neighborhood. An almost private beach with beautiful coastal bluffs and tide pools. The walk to the beach itself is beautiful with a foot bath through greenery and sweeping views through wind blown trees. Although the neighborhood is perfectly tucked away from all busy-ness and noise, Cannon Beach and Manzanita are just minutes away with easy shopping and many good restaurants. The kitchen had everything needed for a family stay. The location of the property was excellent, just a short walk down to the beach. The washer/dryer were fairly new and in great shape. As for my concerns, there was only one very small bathroom with a shower. There is a shower in the side building, but it was not suitable for use. The beds were okay, not super comfortable and I think they were regular (not queen size) beds. The WiFi was not acceptable at all. I think it was normal (not high speed) speed wifi and it frequently disconnected and took time to re-connect. The one TV also was disappointing. It was a small (maybe 32 inch) in-expensive unit. Finally, we were disappointed there was only a 50 gallon water heater to service the dishwater, kitcen and bath sinks and shower. We stayed here several years ago and the owner has made some quality upgrades since, which made the cottage very comfortable. It's a short walk down to the beach, and our son had a blast playing in the sand and chasing the waves. With the windows open in the cottage, you can hear the waves crashing onto the shore below. Given that we're in a pandemic, we really appreciated the extra covid precautions, especially having a one-day buffer between guests. ##### Megan L. The house is well equipped with everything we needed. Wish we could have been able to open more windows, though, to hear the ocean. ##### Rachel R. I grew up coming to Falcon's Cove and it was such a blessing to find this gem of a house so close to such a magical beach. House was VERY clean and had amazing energy. The sauna was stellar! Sep 14, 2020 Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication, location, listing accuracy #### A peaceful place off the beaten path We really needed a break and this home is so peaceful and the beach uncrowded even on Labor Day. It has lots of different spaces for a group to relax, and the yard was perfect for our two hammocks (no trees, bring stands). The upper deck has great views and is wonderful to sit and read. The beach is a quick walk. We were there in the storm so power went out that night, my only thought would be to have lanterns or flashlights available since we had to use our phones to see inside the house. Not sure how often that happens though since the storm was an anomaly for that time of year. As others have said, no microwave however the stove worked just great for us and we enjoyed the charcoal grill. Just the respite we all needed. Kitchen and bathroom were good. Needs a microwave! And privacy curtain for kitchen would be nice. Bedrooms were old and outdated. Sauna was great but polar tub seemed to have a leak?
