Definitely recommend this hotel. The staff were ALL welcoming and helpful. They even made our dog more than welcome. Free parking right next to the hotel. We will definitely book again.

Lovely hotel
Lovely hotel with swimming pool and gym though both tiny. Room had nice view of river. Bar was ok

River view was a bonus. Very friendly staff. Breakfast could have been improved with more variety of bread and some fresh fruit.

Riverside views
A great hotel well located on river with balcony seating outdoors to enjoy the weather with food and drink. Would recommend this hotel to anyone and we will be staying here again on our next visit as we really enjoyed our stay in Kendal

Fantastic stay
Fantastic overnight stay. Beautifully prepared dinner. I expected a simple continental breakfast for what we paid but it was amazing. Staff and rooms excellent

Great room, quite spacious for the UK, updated bathroom. The bed was comfy, plenty of hot water and good pressure in the shower, very decent buffet breakfast. Room 102 has noises at night, probably HVAC sounds, lasting 20 seconds at a time, multiple times a night... I cuold hear it even with earplugs. Didn't hear it in room 105 my first few nights. Gym with lots of equipment, nice sauna and steam rooms, but hot tub not very hot. But still nice to have. Just between the train and bus stations, so perfect for people depending on public transportation. Used it as my base for the Lake District/Cumbria, was very well connected.

Not bad, room nice, breakfast was really good, staff friendly. I would stay again. I did have to walk to another car park with my case as the on site parking was full. The room could have been cleaner but I have stayed in worse!

Weekend break
The Riverside Hotel is in a good location, just 10 minutes stroll into the town centre. Our room had a beautiful view over the river. We weren’t lucky enough to see the family of otters we were told about but maybe next time. Breakfasts are delicious. I’m guessing most of the produce is obtained locally so it’s of a very high standard. But the icing on the cake is undoubtedly the staff, without exception they were a credit to the hotel.

Our stay here was really nice, highly recommend. Breakfast was great, all the staff very friendly. Lovely view of the river, beautiful surroundings!!!

We had a lovely long weekend in Kendal and the hotel was perfectly located near the town centre. Staff was friendly and helpful, spa area small and at times busy but it was free to use which was greatly appreciated. Would come again

The hotel is within walking distance to restaurants and shopping. The bus station is nearby, where you can get transportation to the lake district. We were also able to walk up to the Kendal Castle which is interesting and offers beautiful views.

We stayed for one night. Hotel is very old and not maintained property. Restaurant staff was very unfriendly and picked up buffet breakfast before closing time. Room had a damp smell inside and not even a fan inside bathroom. Was charged £25 for 2 year old to stay in family room and no facility for room service for child until 6pm.

Thank you very much for your review,We are very sorry to hear you found the restaurant staff unfriendly, we normally received such glowing reviews about all of the staff, the buffet is normally taken away 20 minutes after the end of service, or once all the guests have finished. All the bathrooms do have a fan, but these can be turned off in each room, had we have known it wasn’t running, we would have been more than happy to rectify this. Under 3s accommodate free of charge at the hotel, so please contact the hotel directly to talk to us about this. Once again thank you for talking the time to leave a review,

Good hotel. Veranda = Smoking Area.
Good hotel. Great staff and service. Lovely small veranda on the River Kent where we watched a Kingfisher going about it's business, but completely ruined by it being regarded as the smoking area for guests and staff.
