It has been renovated according to the Cretan traditional architecture. It can accommodate up to eleven persons in four separate apartments which are placed in different levels. The visitors will surely be impressed by the space which is decorated with antiques and the exterior environment which is immersed in the Cretan landscape. The charming swimming pool offers moments of relaxation and calmness under the sun, while the guests can enjoy peaceful shady spots in the yard with local mulberry trees. The upper level balconies offer a spectacular view of the gorge and mountains where goats and sheep live. Apokoronas is a historic and beautiful area of Crete with a landscape of wild mountains and fertile valleys. It was a place where emperors and lords of Byzantine Empire could reside and enjoy wealth and beauty. Vafes is one of the villages of Apokoronas (32km far from Chania, 28km far from Rethymno and 110km far from Heraklion). Its the only village of the prefecture of Chania which has been declared a historic preservable place because of history and traditional architecture. The beautiful stone walls outside, the traditional oven, the barbeque and the swimming pool offer the chance of a unique and peaceful stay in beautiful natural surroundings away from the bustle of tourism. Scents and colours of the thyme, oregan, jasmine and other Cretan plants and flowers give the visitors unique moments. The area has traditional cafes and taverns with delicious Cretan plates and industries with local products (wine, cheese etc.). Relax in a unique place and take a journey into the past time. Each of the four rooms has a refrigerator, a little kitchenette (or a bona fide kitchen) and bathroom/restroom, so it's very convenient. The whole thing has a great authentic feel to it, nothing too fancy, but that's part of the great charm of it. You get to the place through a little alley and then it's your own little (not so little) universe. The communication with the owner was fast and diligent, very amicable and gracious, but always through the Abritel platform. All in all, we had a great experience. ##### Léonard H. We loved that each of us had his own suit and the congregation areas are wonderful, there are many places to sit, and enjoy everyone. The pool is a great feature. We loved the coffee place near buy and the restaurant in the village. The best thing is that the place is far from the noise of the city. With that, it’s a short 18 min drive to the beach and a 35min drive to Chanya. George was accommodating. This place is very much recommended if you want some peace and quite and you love the outdoors. ##### Avi M. Das Haus liegt in einem kleinen Dorf mit Blick auf die hügelige Landschaft, in der Ferne sieht man die Bucht von Chania. Eine Taverne und ein Souvenirladen befinden sich im Dorf, Lebensmittelläden im Nachbarort. Ideal für mehrere Parteien, da die vier Appartments verwinkelt und auf verschiedenen Ebenen angeordnet sind. Der Vermieter ist sehr aufmerksam, bei Bedarf sehr schnell erreichbar und steht mit Rat und Tat zur Seite. Uneingeschränkt empfehlenswerte Location. Wir haben traumhafte zwei Wochen dort verbracht. Séjour de 14 nuits en septembre 2021 ### 10/10 – Excellent #### Danielle v. 12 août 2021 Points forts : Propreté #### Een heerlijk verblijf in een rustig bergdorpje We hebben met volle teugen genoten van deze prachtige accommodatie in een klein bergdorpje op Kreta. De verschillende kamers vormen samen een klein complexje met privé zwembad waar we twee weken hebben doorgebracht met onze familie. Doordat iedereen zijn eigen " huisje" met badkamer en keukentje had, verzameld rondom het zwembad, was er voldoende privacy en waren we toch gezellig samen. Door de verschillende niveaus waarop de kamers zich bevinden zijn er wel wat trappen buiten en daardoor wellicht minder geschikt voor mensen die echt slecht ter been zijn of hele kleine kinderen. De kamers zijn smaakvol opgeknapt met aandacht voor de geschiedenis maar voorzien van alle moderne gemakken zoals ook airco (die we erg op prijs hebben gesteld tijdens de hittegolf). Het contact met de eigenaar was snel en plezierig, toen er op de eerste dag iets mis was met 1 van de airco's stond er direct een monteur op de stoep die het probleem heeft opgelost. De omgeving is rustig, mooi uitzicht over het dal met de zee in de verste, prachtige sterrenhemel 's nachts, vriendelijke inwoners in het dorp en 2 tavernes waar je voor ongekend lage prijzen eenvoudig kunt eten. Vergeet ook niet om een bezoekje te brengen aan het winkeltje en het olijvenpers museumpje. We hebben genoten en komen graag nog eens terug! ##### Danielle v.
